Where does the CDC get their numbers?

Here is a report on Knoxville, TN where the Knox County Health Department and East Tennessee Children's Hospital both state that there haven't been any cases of electronic cigarette related incidents. There are more than 182,000 people living in Knoxville, you would think there would at least be one with the major increase that the CDC is reporting, but no. So my question is, where are these reports being generated? Is ANTZ only calling to make reports in certain areas of the country or what's really going on? Here's the news: Electronic cigarette poisonings not a problem in some parts of the country - Knoxville Business | Examiner.com

Any of us can. The data is either publicly available or can be obtained using a FOIA request.

Let's do it! If someone will guide me through how to make the request for the information on these cases I will attempt to get it so we can find out what is really going on, because we all know that this just ain't right!

Personally, I think they make it up for the most part. Who's going to ask them to produce the data?

Absolutely!

"It has been reported"
"They have said"
"Indications are"
"Recently revealed studies have shown"
"Statistics demonstrate"
"In a recent study"
"It is obvious"
"Evidence is coming to light"
"Most (fill in the blank) agree"
"In many cases"
"In a soon to be published report"

ever since the NYT's hatchet job about nicotine i've had this thought rolling
around the back of my head.where are all these calls coming from?
from my experience perusing ECF and other like forums i get the impression
that your ecig smoker profile seems to be the 18-25 tear old young exuberant willing
to try new things type.mostly still single no kids.
then you have the 40 to 45 and older(like me)worrying about or experiencing health
related issues.kids all grown.
in between you have a smattering some still single but mostly married working
class people trying to get by and raise there kids.
all three of these groups seem to me to be more educated and certainly more
intelligent and better read then there peers.
not the types to not take the proper precautions concerning harmful products.
so the thought that's been rolling around in my head like a bee bee in a box car
is,could it be the ANTZ are stuffing the ballot box so to speak?
:2c:

mike
