Does anyone know where liquid companies are getting the nicotine from? Especially those based in the US!

I emailed them about whether their eJuices where made with USA Ingredients and here is the response:
'Yes, all PG and VG comes from California. The nicotine comes to me from Florida. The vast majority of flavors come from the USA, but a few come from Italy. If you have a specific flavor you are interested in, I can tell you whether or not the flavoring comes from Europe or the USA.'

Pharmaceutical grade nicotine is available on the open market. You just have to know how to get it, and order it prepared in PG or VG suspension.
The levels that most e-cig companies use to create e-liquids can range from 36mg per ML to 300mg per ML. You need special safety precautions to work with anything above 50mg per ml. 100mg per ML must be handled very carefully. Above 100mg per ML you are playing with your life if you do not know what you are doing or have do not have the proper equipment.
But yes, you can source nicotine. If you are looking for a DIY supply, there are a number of vendors that sell 100mg per ML or lower nic which is pharmaceutical grade.
Not looking to DIY. Just curious where they get it from and it it's legal.
I just bought nicotine from voidmist and gourmet vapors. Gourmet vapor they use Box Elder chemical supply company which is based in Utah USA. I think it is legal to purchase nicotine. I have purchased.

Everything I've read says that it is a byproduct of and extracted from tobacco by pharmaceutical companies and is usually sourced from Europe to the U.S.
At least that's probably one of the major the bulk sources which is repackaged over and over until it gets to small bottles for us to use.

I saw him once, and I'm not sure I'd go with "glorious". He never should have tried those turquoise tights with the lime green leotard. It's just wrong.
All comes from china, no one is producing it as cheap as they are atm. $125 a KG +$75 shipping. Pure powdered nicotine crystals. Mix it with some cheap PG and just BANK on all the nooby DIYers paying $75 for 250ml 8).

Honestly... it was my understanding that the Chinese vendors have a process of extracting nicotine from tobacco leaves, and they use that extract in the juice. Probably the same process that makes the pharma grade nicotine over on this side of the pond, although I imagine the growers are in different locations.
Edit: I always assumed the Nicotine fairy looks kinda like the absinthe fairy...thanks for confirming that. ^_^
