I'll consider this post from you to be the heated and disrespectful type posts that Lisa requsted we avoid. Please allow me to set a few things straight before I depart.
You keep seeming to want to use oxymorans. And your furthing the notion that you havent grasped the concept of atheism by doing so. Atheism is not a belief system.. therefor it cannot, by definition, be false. Atheism is the REJECTION of a belief system due to lack of reasonable evidence. That said, had I said I was an "Antitheist"... your assertion above would be correct. Antitheism is the belief that there are no gods. Atheism is a rejection of the evidence provided by theists. You dont get that?
I never said atheism is new. You are the one who said there is some new 'movement' of "I am god" people. Those werent my words. I submit that there are true atheists... your talking to one. Additionally, its been said that we are ALL atheists, we just reject the notion of one more god than you. Im sure you're intelligent enough to understand the point of that statement.
You're certainly entitled to feel that way about someone who doesnt share in your enthusiasm. But your incorrect. Its funny, because Lisa made it clear that no one should be "defending" themselves here, yet I feel thats all Im doing?
I havent "convinced" myself of anything Blonde. I told you... I came to a conclusion based on verifiable, reasonable evidence that contradicts the notions of gods through cognitive reasoning, intuition, open mindedness, research and examination.
Im not convincing myself that what I believe is true, Im rejecting what you are convinced is true. There is a difference.

I completely disagree with you. Since christianity abounds all around me in hundreds of different ways, and having studied all sides of both positions, I have a very clear understanding of christains. How you assert the opposite is unclear to me as you've made yourself very understandable and I've not once avoided, confused, or attacked your belief in any way. I have attempted to correct some misunderstanding that I felt you had, and done so with good intentions. How that equals ME not understanding YOU is beyond me.
Wow. Can you imagin if I had said that to you? Id most likely be banned and my post deleted for being so derogatory. Because Im trying to engage in an exchange of ideas that differ from yours Im "blind"????? Because I dont accept your assertions on faith, Im "blind"??? I thought we are all to be tolorant of eachother in this discussion? Calling me blind and you sighted is offensive and demeaning. However, Im glad to have been on the receiving end of that comment and not the one who said it. Additionally, Im not trying to "lead" anyone... isnt that your job?

Fair question. Allow me to answer: First, where have I said you are simple minded? That would be like me calling you blind and me sighted. Its cruel and intolorant. Second... where did I say I felt threatened by any of of it? I do feel threatened that the christians preceived moral highground is slowly leaking its way into areas of my life that it has no business being in. But thats another discussion. The only way I can describe it is like if you felt that islam was infringing on christianity. You'd feel threatened by that (I assume). Your not threatened by islam... just the implications. Do you see what I mean?
All in all... I feel that it wasnt until I started pointing out your misconceptions and misunderstandings that you felt the need to be "finished" with our talks here. I've been fair and considerate in my discourse and tried to pose valid questions and comments. For that I've been demeaned, belittled, called names, and finally... written off.
Lisa... I again thank you for inviting me to participate here. I hope I've held true to your wishes and restrictions. Perhaps you can let Blonde know that to call people blind, dark, and misled due to their oposing views is neither tactful nor tolorant and that it equals attacking someones personal feelings and conclusions... something I was told I couldnt do.

Since there was such an "uproar" about Pete's deleted posts, I've restored them in this thread. Read them, and decide for yourself if the deletion was "uncalled for" or not.

Thanks for re-posting his posts Lisa. When they were deleted, he could cry "victim". Now that they're out in the open, it's obvious (at least to me) that his intent was to rile people up as he offered nothing productive, no discussion of what a "christian warrior" is. Just ridicule. It would be like some of us going into the Atheist vaper's forum and posting that the Bible says they're fools in their threads. What good does that do anyone?
