I'm still a newbie but I posted to many times in the new users forum to post there. I am on Day 5 of vaping. vaping seems to have lost its flavor for me. The only flavor I can still taste is menthol. None of the goodie flavors like apple, caramel, mocha frappacino, taste like anything. And some of the flavors taste like spoiled vegetable oil.
Why is this happening? I keep trying different flavors and they all taste like nothing!
How can I fix this?
Sandy

Don't forget, as you get into vaping, your tastes will change. I started pure menthol with no flavor and loved it! Now i'm making my own juices for the most part and moving more towards fruit/tobacco flavors. Though I did find my all-day vape early on and still love it, Minnesota Menthol from Vermillion River.

So don't be surprised if your tastes change over time....go to the PIF forums..try a few treasure chests, swaps and so forth so you can expand your horizons a bit!

I went through the EXACT same thing!!! For the first couple of days, I thought wow, this is great! Everything tastes so good. Once I hit day 5-7, I felt like I could not taste ANYTHING except for menthol. I thought I was doing something wrong with the way I was vaping. It took a good two weeks to start tasting anything but menthol. I am only a month in, and I still have times where I feel like I am not experiencing the full flavor of some juices. I just put them away, and try again in a few days!

Thanks :)

I went through a "Where's the taste" phase too about 1-2 weeks in. I thought it was the cartos or the batteries or the juices, kept switching things up and finally figured out it was just me, and my taste buds came back soon. About 2 months in I went through another taste changing phase where everything started tasting *more* intense. I DIY and I had to cut way back on flavor percentages and sweetener because all my juices that used to taste great were suddenly just too much.

Hi Sandy

It just happens to many of us at one time or another. But the good news the loss of taste sensation passes too. I went through this about six weeks in, ordered a buncha different flavors to wake up my taste buds, and by the time the order arrived everything was back to normal. I therefore conclude my taste buds are somehow connected to my credit cards. :p

Right now I'm on day two of another tasteless "meh" phase. :( But it's only happened twice since April.

Seriously, it's not fun when it does happen and your favorite flavors go flat. When it happens to me everything seems to taste like green bell peppers. My fall back flavor, to at least keep me interested in vaping, is a strong menthol.

Another thing to look into is checking your vaping style. There can be a bad tendency when this happens to suck on your pv until you are cross-eyed. It doesn't help. Take shorts drags and draw the vape in and across your tongue (taste buds) along with some air. "Sucking cross-eyed" tends to result in gulping in a lot of vapor, where it only ends up at the back of your throat and/or down your lungs - where you can't taste anything. There are videos on ecf and you-tube showing proper vaping style.
