I need some help. I don't know what's going on, I get all my juices at 12 mg nicotine and only a few of them give me the throat hit I want. Other then that its just a tickle, makes me cough. Is it a difference in the juices? The throat hit is what I want in a juice but some awesome juices that I get just don't give it. Advice???

The flavoring also plays a role. For instance, menthol and cinnamon will give a greater throat hit than other flavorings. Throat hit is really just throat irritation. If you smoked, it came mainly from the smoke. Now it comes from the PG, nic and flavorings.

Hope that helps and Happy Vaping!

The pg adds very little throat hit. It is the nicotine that is responsible for the level of throat hit. I like a lot which is why I mix my juice at 24mg nic. It could be that without testing, you really do not know for sure what the level is in the juice that you purchase. Although I know of so many wonderful vendors out there. Another trick I use, is you can add a drop or two of PGA (Pure Grain Alcohol) or I have been known to add a drop or two of peach flavored Vodka to a bottle. It is my opinion that this can add a bit of throat hit. Just my 2¢ of course. But good luck to you and I hope you find juice that makes your taste buds dance. That's what it is all about.

Please forgive me, I just noticed that you were relatively new and wanted to say it is nice to meet you and I look forward to reading more about you and your journey. I also love you avatar.

Certain juices just tend to have more throat hit in my opinion... BUT the higher the nic the higher the throat hit. Also if you you increase your battery output you will get more throat hit. (IE 3.2 volts less throat hit than 3.8) I have heard pg also increases it, but I only vape 50/50 so I dont know. I have also heard that pure grain alcohol increases throat hit, but atleast for me it changes the flavor and is very harsh. Good luck!!:toast:

My experience is that higher PG gives much better throat hit, though it can't do it alone, it needs nicotine there too. I find that ejuices that are on the creamy side also tend to be softer on the throat; one reason I started DIY is so I can make my own creamy flavors with no diketones, and WITH throat hit, by using the Flash additive, 84% PG, 10mg nicotine. My Strawberries and Cream has very good TH at that PG and nic level, by using a fair amount of Flash in the mix.

Also, if you need to stay higher in VG for some reason, I've heard that using pure grain alcohol rather than distilled water to dilute it can increase the throat hit.
