Given your preferences (moving around a lot, don't want to mess with modding or dripping) I agree with others -- I would check out the KR808d-1 (goes by many other names - the 808, KR8, Easy E-Cig, Vapor King, Ace, etc...).

I wrote a long post about the KR808d-1's handiness and suppliers here. Here's a thread about suppliers of the KR8.

This is very much a personal preference, but I started with a Joye306 and 510, and if I did it again, I'd start with: a KR808d-1 starter kit with two manual batteries and a PCC; a KR8 pass-through for vaping at the computer; a pack of prefilled cartomizers to try; a couple packs of blank cartomizers to fill myself; and liquid from TastyVapor or Nhaler to fill and refill.

I discovered I far prefer filling my own cartomizer blanks. Prefilleds to me have an icky tangy flavor. That's purely a personal taste thing you have to find for yourself.

How to get more vapor from your KR808d-1: buy part-VG liquid to refill. Nhaler has "High Voltage" liquid, Ms. T's Bakery is part-VG, and TastyVapor provides options for different % of VG (20% VG is perfect for cartomizers!).
(To really make cartomizers awesome, then get a 5v or 6v mod like the Xhaler, Chuck, GLV, Super6, Prodigy, Silver Bullet, etc. :D)

Where to get cheaper blank cartomizers: Vapor4Life has one of the higher prices on blanks. Mist-Stix has 5-packs for $6.50 with the 'ECF' coupon code and $2.95 shipping in smaller quantities. BluegrassVapor has them in multiple colors for $7.50 a pack with free shipping and a 10% coupon code right now (search the forum to find it...can't recall it). HealthCabin in China offers 50 for $50; buy over $250 (team up with another member for a co-op!), and you get free shipping plus 10% off.

It sounds like you don't want to work to get the best experience. I don't mean that in a negative manner because neither did I, and I wish it didn't have to be that way, but after reading about every model possible, it seems that everyone needs to work a little to make it better, weather that means giving it a couple days to break in the atty, filling juice every day to get better taste and have it be cheaper than using pre-filled carts, doing a foam mod to get more vapor and have it last longer and swapping out batteries. Like I had said in my link, its actually not as much work nor as intimidating as it appears, but no matter what model you decide on, I just wanted to say you might need to lower your expectations in order to not be disappointed and frustrated. I hope it turns out to be a good experience for you though.

Granted, I've been vaping for less than a week, so my opinion means dick.

I would submit to you, Amassaic, that one eGo with a freshly-charged battery, in conjunction with two spare, fully-loaded cartridges would get you through your busy day up there in the Big Apple.

But, hey — whatever you do — don't listen to me.

Idrip also. It is much easier to just take the cart off and drip directly on the atomizer. No hassle of refilling carts. I now use a mod and the battery last almost a full days. The only thing I have to carry around is a bottle of eliquid. You will need to carry an extra atomizer in case it goes bad.

This is probably the easiest way to vape.

Where does one find coupon codes and does anyone know where to buy 5v mods as shown?

Thanks

I too am almost ready to purchase "the perfect" unit for me (LOL)
I am pretty sure the 808 is what will work best 4 me. I still don't know which one to get, and model and battery size etc. Also some sites don't show their shipping costs up front.

I tried to get into these but they said they were not available right now (probably my very old computer) I will try again later after work.

I have got to chime in here. I quit smoking a pack a day of MarlBro Reds exactly two weeks ago. I owe my sucess and happiness to everyone in this forum. I read everything here day and night until I was blind. If I was going to give up the analogs then I needed the best hardware out there. The Vapor4Life Vapor King KR-808D1 was it. I didn't order a kit. I ordered what I needed. A way to charge the batteries. I chose the USB charger for the computer and the car adapter. I got the PCC. I got the "regular size" batteries but actually like the longer ones for the added run time but the regular ones are just fine and last. I ordered the auto batteries but I actually like the manual ones. This e-cig is two piece unit. No atomizers to fail, no dipping, dripping or any of that non-sense. I screw on a cartomizer, drag on and put it away. Easy as that. If you vape it dry, toss it and screw on another. Easy as that. But I just happen to not like prefilled flavors but you may. Everyone else I know who has one likes many flavors of cartomizers. I happen to buy blanks and fill them. I keep a little bottle of juice with me in case I start vaping dry,(but that will never happen) but a cart is good for a pack of smokes more or less. So it is kinda like having a spare pack of smokes in the glovebox kinda thing. This e-cig is the best for convenience, quality, and great vape. Everyone thinks I'm smoking but I'm not. These have helped me quit. All the stuff I buy is 24mg though. I like catching a buzz, and feeling good. Thing is you can vape your brains out and go into an elevator full of crammed in people(Not that I have just making a point)and you will not smell like smoke. NOBODY KNOWS !!!!!!!

i understand your problem...i started out with a pen style 801...from what i read it had a longer cartridge life before need to refill...it worked but the battery charging got really old really fast....so i moved to a puresmoker protege...it increased the battery life and still used the 801 atty and cart(they have other options but i already had the stuff so i went with 801) the battery life improved but i was still not happy with its performance...it uses a 14500 lithium-ion battery (aa size)...so i have now ordered a silver bullet from altsmoke.com...the unit is a little bit larger but it will still fit in your hand...i watched many videos on this unit and before i got a ecig i thought it would be too big...now having a couple to go by in my hand i don't think this is the case...the sb uses an 18650 battery to run at 3.7 volts (same voltage as all the ones that you are looking at) the 14500 is rated at 900mah (mah is the capacity of the charge of the battery)...the traditional ecig battery is around 200mah....the 18650 i ordered from allbattery.com is 2800mah...from the videos i have seen it lasts about 22 hours without recharging...so on the go all you need to have is some juice....(it also offers a battery configuration with 3 smaller 3v batteries to make it run at 6v)...all this stuff was very confusing to meet at first...to recap for you
i would go with a battery mod...either a siver bullet from altsmoke.com or an xhaler from nhaler.com...battery life is unbeatable and so is the vapor production...to start with i would order 5 atomizers for the learning curve...they tend to last a month or so but you can burn them out if you run them dry...(i burned a couple up in the first few days) but since i have been using the same 2 for few weeks now...i have been using the 801 atty and cart...i ordered some 501s to give them a try too...had i known what i know now i would have gone big to begin with and saved a couple hundred bucks...i ordered prefilled carts but i quickly moved to filling them myself...i get my juice from nhaler...really like it...i also found a cart modification in the forum to use blue foam filter...makes them last a lot longer between refilling...i am still pretty new to vaping but this is what i have found in all my research and trial and error...hope this helps

you know what...here I am ready to buy Vaper King from vapor4life.com but would like for them to help me out with the ordering process so I email them to provide me a number to call to assist me with it...no response. i email them again 2 days later...i get a response from Valerie who says her response got lost in junk mail - LIE. Lol, she didnt even reiterate her "response". I email again, please have someone call me or email to help me with my order. Says she will forward my message to the "order guys"...2 days later...no response...

So much for all the talk about their great customer service and "steve is great, blah blah blah" - I have never encountered worse customer service in my life. You would think that they would jump at the chance to gain a new customer, especially because they would HAVE to become a repeat customer! You would think that customer support would be solid because not everyone understands a fairly new and complex (to noobs) product. Obviously they can care less and hire ...... to follow up with customers.

Basically, if vapor4life.com is the only place to get vapor king, I guess I will not buy the product. I would never want to deal with them after this, especially if I will have to continuously reorder from them going forward. I will now look for a different brand...possibly Blu or Greencig

Thanks everyone for all your help.

I would strongly suggest not buying either of the 2 you mentioned. Read some more. I know the blu has LOADS of bad reviews. vapor4life isn't the only company that sells the 808. Look at the suppliers forum to find a different supplier that will respond to your questions in a more professional manner.

Don't give up. It's worth all of what you deal with. I was a 2-3pk a day smoker and I now no longer smoke. This works, man. Give a good chance.

I have the 510, I drip. I am ordering an SB for longer batt life and more consistent vapor. Very happy with this product, just sick of swapping out batts all the time. You'll find your own way once you start. Just don't get frustrated and buy the wrong product. A little more research will yield results, I'm confident!

I had the same difficulty when i first started looking at getting an e-cig a couple of months ago. The Wonderful World of Vaping: An Illustrated Guide to E-cigs (i can't post a link yet, but the link is in the post above) was amazingly helpful. It took a bit of time to go through but demystifies the vocabulary and saved me from having to try a bunch of different models before i got one that worked for me. I got the KRD808D-1 manual- aka "vapor king". It's a two-piece model, direct and easy to use, good service through vapor4life, and i only have to fiddle with it when i want to.
