I've got the local chemist confused , I went and bought out her stock of dropper bottles and other bits and pieces. In the end I took my 510 down with me so I could explain what I was doing with all the odds and ends I had been picking up there over the last week whilst waiting on my 510 kit to arrive.!!!

I live on a main road, I often walk down to the local shops about 250m down the hill. I get all sorts of strange looks from both passing cars and other locals when they see me with this long black thing with a blue tip in my mouth, and then blow out a huge cloud of "smoke" but no one has asked me yet what it is. And I hope it stays that way.

I was sitting at a set of traffic lights in Perth earlier today waiting to turn right, next thing i hear is someone going crazy on the horn and looked over to my left and realised the guy in the car next to me was just dumfounded and steering at me and the cars behind him were the ones honking coz he was holding up traffic! I wondered all the way home if he went home and googled what i was doing!

Rooting around in the spare room yesterday after getting my first PV gear, I found a 20L container of glycerin from the old dried fruit packaging business my olds used to have. I have a hunch it is synthetic due to the chemical formula being stated on the label, but it is food grade none the less and the price is right. I dripped some about 5 minutes ago and the vapour production was enough to put a smile on my face :)

Now to get a hold of some good flavourings for it. Thinking some vanilla essence, and order in some menthol crystals too. Is Agnostura bitters likely to gum up the atty?

So let me get this straight... Assuming I only want to vape 0mg nicotine then basically all I need to make DIY E-juice is VG (or PG) and flavouring (like vanilla essence). Provided the exact types are the correct types i.e pure VG/PG and no sugar/oils flavouring then THATS IT?

If so why did I just fork out $36USD on 4x30ml Dekang juice from HG when I coud of made my own for a fraction of the cost? Are these worth the premium compared to home made? Keep in mind I just made my first order today for a kit.

Also is distilled water usually necessary and will PGA or vodka really give it an edge?

When talking 0 nic homemade is better made especially now we seem to be able to get loranns flavouring in Australia, so now the range of 0 nic you can make cheaply has greatly increased.

Personal opinion here alcohol can help keep your atmozimers working well by cleaning them while they are being used letting you get away with some flavours that might cause Atty trouble otherwise. You do need to add something to thin if you use vg but with pg it is personal choice.

Yeah I know I just found this:

Lorann Hard Candy Flavorings 20 ct. Banana, Blueberry + - eBay (item 400099812527 end time Mar-27-10 17:19:00 PDT)

I pretty certain they ship to Oz.

So add say $8 for like 200ml of VG and you have 20 flavours for less than I paid for 4 x 30ml E-juice. I wish I had looked into this before placing my order for my start up kits.

Oh well!

he told me it is now off the Govt list for selling. It has been withdrawn cause terrorists can use it for building bombs.

I think he may of misunderstood what you were interested in purchasing

(homepharmacy.com.au/products/products_view.cfm?ProductID=4360]Propylene Glycol Bp 500m David Craig - Biotech Pharmaceuticals - Home Pharmacy) Sells it online if you want to buy it, although like I said it is fine to buy, if questioned just say you your, wife etc wants to play around with making some creams.

Just copy whats in the brackets into google and it the top one should be the right place.

i found a online store based in melb called Paddymelon & The Melbourne Food Depot, can't post links yet but they are selling "Glycerine Liquid USP/BP 1.40kg Jerry Can" VG for about $30 which should last a while :D

here is the product info stright from the site

Product description:
Glycerin Liquid in handy jerrycan. This size is ideal to test small product batches, use for herbal extraction or home use. This product is derived from vegetable sources including coconut oil or palm oil.

Glycerin is also well known as glycerine and glycerol. It is a colorless, odorless, hygroscopic, and sweet-tasting viscous liquid. Glycerin is a sugar alcohol and has three hydrophilic alcoholic hydroxyl groups (-OH) that are responsible for its solubility in water. Glycerin is used in glycerin soap, in cosmetics and creams, also in food production.

Our glycerin is produced from vegetable sources, mainly nut oils, and is kosher, halal and vegetarian approved.

Other uses our customers have found for our glycerin

1. Spirit and Home Brew Production
it's also a pretty common practice to throw in some glycerin, as it's much cheaper than taking a smaller cut of the distillate and allowing time to mellow it out. Yes, glycerin is used in some liqueurs to achieve the silky mouthfeel.

It seems a good starting guide would be 5-10ml per lts of spirit. It will improve the taste and flavour of the spirit.

2. Glycerin Fog machine mist
