heya peeps, i've been vaping for 10 days and while i don't necessarily feel the need to go back to analogs i find i am missing that buzz i used to get with my first cigarette of the day. before i quit i was smoking about 6-7 marlboro lights a day. currently i'm vaping cartomizers with 24mg of nicotine but feel that's a wee bit too strong despite the lack of buzz. s the lack of a buzz just something i'll need to get used to or is there some trick to it that i'm missing?

Hi Craybee I would try another flavor. I was in the exact same boat except I smoked more analogs a day. I tried the 24mg Marbs and it was too harsh for me, I have been using another flavor that is more palatable with a higher nic level and it seems to be working better for me. I have been also cutting the Marb flavor with another flavor that I had bought and it's also making it more vapable. For me it wasn't the nic level so much as it was the flavor that I was having trouble with. You just need to experiment a bit to find the right combo the buzz is out there keep at it, and congrats on making the switch.

Most of the "buzz" associated with smoking is actually the effect of Carbon Monoxide blocking the flow of Oxygen to your brain.

You will never duplicate that.

You can simulate it by drawing a long puff on the e-cig, inhaling slowly, holding it for a few seconds, then slowly exhaling through the mouth and nostrils. The effect is more pronounced with higher nicotine liquids.

i had a feeling that might be the case. just wanted to make sure though. i guess it makes sense, afterall there's gotta be a reason for all those other thousands of ingredients they put in analog ciggies. right? but thanks for the info, i had no idea the carbon monoxide was blocking the flow of oxygen to my brain, though that does explain the wobbly legs, gotta hold on to something feeling i'd usually get with that first morning buzz. gotta admit i will miss that :p

I still get that from as low as 16mg nicotine levels, you may want to change up flavors, I'm using an imitation clove flavoring as I used to smoke kreteks and menthols exclusively towards the end of my time on analogs, and it gives me that 'wake-up buzz' I need, wobbly legs and all. If 24mg isn't doing the trick you may need to look at the flavor, the liquid itself, your setup, or even the PG/VG mix of the liquid. What kind of battery/kit are you using? I'm running boring old KR808s as my daily use PV and it takes care of me nicely even at 'low' voltages associated with Li-ion batteries, though I also use a 100% PG mix, which seems to increase the nicotine delivery rate enough to where I get a nice buzz going on.

Hi kelly, i bought the Apollo standard kit along with medium strength (12mg) tobacco flavored cartomizers. on my first day using the kit i realized that medium wasn't gonna do it for me so i went to their site and ordered the super octane (24mg) cherry flavored carts, which arrived swiftly, but i think those might be too strong (even though i don't get a buzz) so then i ordered a variety pack of 16mg cartos ... which will be waiting for me in the mail when i get home this evening. looking forward to them. also have an order of blank cartos with a variety of e-liquids arriving later this week.

i'm still new to all this so i haven't looked into the voltage thingy i hear people talking about. and the mixing of flavors and strengths. i'm looking forward to getting into all that eventually though. despite the lack of buzz i am getting the nicotine delivery to my system and it has kept me from going back to analogs, which is important ...i just miss that dagnabbit buzz that made me all weeble-wobbly. i'm sure eventually i'll hit on that magic combination of flavors/strengths that'll pack the punch i'm looking for.

Variety packs are a great way to go, absolutely, lets you see what you like without getting stuck with a ton of something you can't vape. Congrats again on making the switch, even if you're still searching for that perfect daily use flavor. I did just check the Apollo site and their liquids are 60/40 PG/VG, which for me wouldn't be strong enough to get me a buzz, regardless of nicotine content, you may want to look at MFS or VK for 100% PG liquids in 16-24mg nicotine levels, though if you're saying 24mg was too much from Apollo I'd start around 18 with a 100% PG mix and adjust from there. You'll find you get the nicotine delivered much faster and can chain-vape easier with the thinner liquid, so it might get you that rush you're looking for. Just something to keep in mind if none of the sampler pack flavors do the trick for you. My daily vape is VK D'Black in 18mg, only tweaks I've made are sweetening it and adding a little bit of menthol for taste.
