Does anyone know what health canada is doing? are they testing pv's right now or are they going to in future? Maybe their not planning on it, It would be nice to know whats up with them

They are busy in a cave deciding what is best for us and how much enjoyment in life we will be permitted.
It seems that health canada is being tight lipped. I wonder if someone got a lywer and took them to court to prove the dangers. Would they at least speed things up?
Really have to agree with Nuck on this , his post says it all ! Now what else will we be told not to do or use ?
Slaucy raises an interesting idea. Anybody here a lawyer? Is there any case at all for a class action suit against HC for needlessly endangering the health of hundreds, if not thousands of Canadians by not letting us have a safer alternative to tobacco? I'd get in on that suit for sure.

I HAVE GREAT NEWS FOR MY FELLOW CANADIANS!
It is NOT up to Health Canada to chase after persons who wish to sell their wares here. The onus is upon sellers to provide documented proof to Health Canada that their products are safe for sale up here.
The only e-cig company that I am aware of, that is right now, in the process of compiling a study to submit to Health Canada, to prove the SAFETY & EFFICIENCY of their product is Smoke Stik. Yeah!!!
I don't know how to post their study brochure in this post, so I will provide you with contact info.
If you wish to participate in the study, it is being held in Richmond Hill, Ont. They have room for a few more people.
Call Shereeza at 905-751-2939. Please ask her for the criteria. Ask her to email you the study brochure.
You will be given a free kit along with a few other things to complete this study. Also, you will have to go to Richmond Hill once a week for 12 weeks for about 1 hour.
I completely understand everyone being upset with Health Canada, but believe me, we are so very lucky that we have a system that CARES about us. Remember that these babies, the cartridges & the e-liquid etc., all comes from China. And we all know of the nasty things that some of the unscrupulous people from there have been doing.
Thank God for our strict Health Canada. They are there to keep us safe!

I personally cannot attend the study as it is to far for me. I have spoken to their USA customer service, which is very informative & ethical. I will be buying my Smoke Stik kit in the USA when I go down there for a visit soon.
Personally, any company that is going to knock themselves out to prove to our government that they have a safe & efficient product, well, they have my vote.

I inquired about this study as well.
The study is only on the use of Electronic Cigarette as a replacement for the Hand to mouth action and the feeling of exhaloing smoke. They will not be studying the the use of ecig with nicotine. Instead it is they are testing some nicotine blocking drug. Here is the reply I got when when I asked for more info:

Unfortunately you would not be able to be a test subject...I wish we could use the many people who have quit already for evidence to Health Canada but we can't...if you know anyone who still smokes and has not tried the smokestik please feel free to pass along the info...this trial involves both the smokestik and a Nicotine blocker called Champix...the liquid carts supplied for the trial are nicotine free so we can see the effects of the propylene glycol only..after this trial we will move on to testing the people with a regular smokestik just like what your using...thanks again.

Yes my first ecig was a smokestik. I saw there product on a news report, started doing some research. I have spoken with Anthony a number of times. He instructed me that Smokestik Canada wqas no longer selling any products and that I would have to through the US site to place an order. I contacted Smokstik USA and they said delivery would be between 7 to 10 business days. Plus I would need to pay duties.
I do have a contact that can get a Smokestik starter kit in Canada. PM if you'd like more info.
Smokestik is basically a RN4081 but a bit more pricey. They are trying to get Health Canada to eventually approve of ecigs.

If you (by some odd chance) are not a rep for the company, I would suggest that you contact them and ask them to answer some of the questions here that will obviously arise, like,
If Smokstik is not selling in Canada, why are they doing a study here? This is not necessarily a nefarious thing, as sometimes things like this are much cheaper to do in Canada than the U.S. This may not be a biggie, but I am sure that anyone who is interested in participating would like an answer to that.
If this study is really legit, why haven't they sent an authorized person to post, rather than an apparent novice to forums?
