I strongly agree that all Canadian supliers be removed form any list that would assist HC, lets keep this to ourselves.

All nicotine products on the market are sold in "multiple doses". A cigarette has 1 - 2 mg of nicotine per cig (it's not possible to accurately measure how much nic each cig gives to every individual user because everyone smokes differently). So you purchase a pack - you are purchasing 25mg to 50mg of 25 "doses" of nicotine.

The patch, inhaler and gum are also sold in multiple doses.

All these, however, have market authorization. HC is withholding market authorization (actually they withdrew it) on eliquid and ecigs. That is where the matter gets a bit sticky. They are claiming liquid violates a law - to the uninformed. But in truth, it only lacks market authorization. HC further refuses to permit ecig companies to gain market authorization unless they stop selling nicotine - regardless of legal doses.

So it is a political issue - more than a legal issue - but they are using their legal authority to enforce their political issue.
In a democracy - that should be a problem. Because ecigs are still rather invisible though - they are getting away with it.

Hope that clarifies some of the legal issues

I also think this might be a different story once we get one vendor to 'push back'. So far none have, but that may change. It is working somewhat with vendors in the US, they are disputing the seizure of goods and are winning. I don't think we need to panic just yet.

Personally, I am not worried....if kids can get crack at school...I am sure we can find nicotine somewhere.

Its easy to suggest to "push back" but when its your house, your family, and your livelyhood at stake its alot harder said than done. Don't get me wrong Evelwmn but the only vendors that were big enough to fight back in the states were Johnson Creek & TW both of whom have not only the sales of the US (and the UK for TW) but also many of the sales of bargain seeking canadians. So when it comes time to find money to fight the good fight in a court of law here in Canada, who is going to foot the bill? The DIY'ers that saved $10 by purchasing out of country?

This post sounds meaner than its intended but the truth of the matter is a legal battle like this will come an a MIN. of $10k-$20k and thats for crappy representation, nothing like what HC would bring to the table.

Just my 2 cents.

It really is amazing just how much political power the big tobacco & Big Pharma have,,,, I would bet my shorts that's who's behind this Canadian Ban, not just the tax, hell they could tax the Nic if they wanted to, that would be easy. Now the loss of the big tobaccos sales, the tax they collect from that, and the Lobbiest from Big Tobacco & Big Pharma would be the problem here the way I see it, they cut the deals so the politicians can't get caught, all these dam politicians are on the take and should be taken out instead of on the take. that's my Rant with this whole deal.! Big Tobacco sells the killer sticks, the Gov't collects the big tax, Big Pharma sells the cancer treatment drugs but they don't cure people they just kill them, if they made drugs that cured people they would be out of business wouldn't they. Its really a sick cycle and money is the root of all evil behind this whole thing the way I see it.

I bet there would be lawyers who would work fairly reasonable for a high profile case like this. If they won the case they would be highly sought after by many future clients.

If any lawyers are reading this and want to get on the bandwagon by all means PM me, how about free juice for a year **ops dont ban me!!! it was a joke NOT a business proposal :p

I dont see how they can ban the sales of this , what if you sold doses like they do by way of cigarettes and broke it down like a pack of smokes. If Big tobacco can sell Nic & Big Pharma can sell it why cant you ? you sell it in the same dosage as a box of patches or smokes ? just a thought or question I would ask HC, would be cool to hear what they had to say about that.?

mwa, 1 word MONEY. They dont get any tax dollars on e-liquid, your taking money out of the pockets of all the tobacco and pharma companies. thats a huge nono. When you do that they come at you like rabbid pitbulls

actually they dont come at you, they get hc to come after you

my earlier post on the previous page says that, I think thats pretty obvious, I also think there leaving themselves open for banning a product like Nic with a lawsuit though, whats next caffeine ?
