I got my first non disposable e cig( a basic ego) as well as nic base and flavorings thursday. As soon as I opened the box, I began mixing my first batch of juice( 5mls of 18g/ml 50/50 turkish tobacco with menthol and a little vanilla). I tested it and the throat hit about blew my head off. Not from too much nic, but from a VERY potent pepper taste. I diluted my juice with vg, the pepper taste wasn't so overwhelming anymore but at the cost of a much lowered nic level. Plus, it still overpowered/ruined any flavorings. The only one that was even remotely tolerable was super strong menthol, which while vaping I could at least pretend the pepper hit was some kind of strong tobacco lol. So I did my research and found lots of people who knew what this was, what caused it, and the solution(time). For a while there is was rough, and more than a few times I felt the alluring call of my favorite cigarettes. But finally the pepper plague has past and I ready to enjoy the art of diy to the fullest.

Cliffhanger... Lol. I assumed it was the nicotine because of the pepper taste. When you say pepper, do you mean like salt and pepper type taste or an actual fruit-type pepper taste? Because when i taste NIC juices, I get more the acidic plant-type pepper taste personally and I always assumed it was the other pepper.
