I've always used Sony VTC 4, 5 & tried Efest but, w/ Sony's gone (or ridiculously expensive & probably fake) I'm wondering if I should go with 1) AW IMR red batteries 2) Blue Samsung 25R or 3) LG HE2... Anybody like a certain one over the others, does 1 hit harder or last longer in your Reo? I usually chain vape around .40-.50.
Also, RTD vapor has IMR but is out of other 2 along with Illumn. Any other reputable places you've used for batteries? Ty Reonauts:) :) :)

I like the Aw 1600mahs, along with the newer 2200mahs. I got them from RTD. I haven't tried the others, but have heard good things.
The efest purple 2500mah are rewrapped LG HE2s (at least I think so)..
I got the aws for reliability and quality, and they are just that. I like the button tops, and I'm satisfied.

The 2200mah lasts a few more ml's of juice, compared to the 1600. They hit about the same though- the 1600 might be a little harder hitting, at first, but don't stay above 3.7vs for as long... but still a long time: 0.5ohms I get about 3.5-4mls, until 3.7Vish with the 1600. With the 2200 I get ~4.5-5ml....

I assume we are talking about 18650?

I guess instead of starting a new thread I could post this here. I need a new charger, debating between the LUC V2 or Xtar vp2 chargers. Anybody like one over the other?

Yes. I own both. I like the VP2 better for two reasons. I like the forward facing display (nice bright display, too) and I like the fact that with a quick flip of the switch I can also charge my 16340s.

Correct, less throw in the switch with button top.

I have the Efest LucV4 and Xtar vp4.

I like the xtar better, because it displays the battery voltage to the hundredths place and it charges down to 0.25As, 0.50A, or to 1A.

Those two things are pretty unimportant in reality, but to me, it seems to provide a more accurate reading/charge, without over-stressing the battery.
I also like the color and angle of the display better, and the fact that it has a red/green light at the top, to clearly indicate when the charge cycle is complete.

The efest is really good, but it is now my backup/beater. This one seems to be built for more wear and tear also... so I think if you travel a lot, this one would probably fit the bill. I took mine on a trip before I got my the xtar... The efest (luc4) can charge charge other stuff too (when a battery is inserted, and a usb cord is used- kinda like the mvp)... That one comes with a car charger too..I forget if the xtar did or not...anyway Im rambling...

I picked up a VP4 for the 4 bay charging option.....While I am not too pleased with the dumbed down version of the VP2 (0.5 amps max when all 4 bays are being used) I do enjoy the battery voltage display and 4x capability. And at the end of the day...charging 4 batts @ 0.5A is not a big deal. I've got dozens..No biggie..I got spoiled with the VP2. The VP4 is a great, reliable charger.

I own 5 of the LG HE2's. I vape in the .4Ω - .6Ω range and I get great performance out of them. I run 2 grands through the day and when I swap my batteries out each morning, they are still in the 3-7-3.8v range. Much better than the Panasonic CGR's I used to run. I bought them from Orbtronic's on Ebay... They are sold as a pair and come with a battery case also. Two LG 18650 HE2 High Drain 2500mAh 20A 30A Hybrid IMR Rechargeable Battery New | eBay

I use AW batteries. Been doing this a long time and have tried them all. What I like most about the AW's is they are rated and deliver over 500 charge cycles with proper maintenance. If you look at the data sheets for the Sony or LG's they state a 50% capacity loss after 250 charges. Being a chain vapor and rarely needing to go over 8 amps I feel like I'm getting twice as much for the money. With the higher amp limit of the new series I feel fully covered. Stick with an authorized reseller like RTD and you'll have no worries. Enjoy the day!:2cool:

I use the AW 2200s and 1600s exclusively, now. The simple reason is that I trust their specs. Conversely, I don't trust Efest's specs at all. They have been proven to be dishonest, and in some cases, downright dangerous. I also prefer button tops to flat tops in the Reos, because of the button throw.

Ditto! There has been a lot buzz about those Samsung 25Rs. I'm not sure I trust them yet. I'll need more proof before switching from my AW IMR 2200s.

Been cruising around here in Reoville now that I have my first Reo set to arrive here tomorrow!! Batt. disscussions are always good imo. I use the LG HE2's 2500mah mostly and have been for quite some time, they are great performers.

I use a nitecore 2 bay charger for all my battery charging... does anyone want to weigh in on that? Seems to have worked fine up to this point for my wife and I, only very recently have we started to have battery issues from our older bats. but these have been going through cycles since April does that sound like reasonable length of time for them to last?

VERY EXCITED for my first Reo btw

I use the same charger. Had it for 5 months. All my batteries come off at 4.2 volts every time so far, oldest are also 5 months so I have a few months (I hope) until I see a drop off...
You might want to check out Baditude's blog and see if he mentions anything about battery lifespan.

When I moved up to the 510's about 1.5 years ago I bought some Efest FT 18650's (2000mAh), but all the rest of the 18650's (2000mAh, 19490's (1100mAh) and 18350's (700mAh) are AW IMR BT's. Added 14500's later, again AW IMR (600mAh), but do have some that are Efest (700mAh) as well than came with used mods bought. After the false start with those for the Sigelei's, RTD is where I've bought all my batts.

I started with an Efest LUC Smart Charger and it's still the main charger. Also have one XTAR WP2II that comes in handy with over 3 dozen batts to keep charged. If I buy another charger it will be the 4-bay LUC since the 2-bay has been so rock solid for me.

Next 18650 buy will probably be the AW IMR 2200's.
