I've got 2 types I've been using in my Reo: NCR18650PD and CGR18650CH.
(18490's for my ProVaris are all AW IMR)
They were purchased long before I went mechanical, so I was just looking for long run time and decent quality...
They work fine, come off at 4.2 and run most of a day...and if I hit 10 amps, somethings wrong, LOL.
Oh - they're all over a year old, but each one probably only sees the charger every 3 days or so...

Still - just ordered ONE EACH of the HE2 and the 25R, just to see if there's a noticeable difference...

Ty all for the input. Going to go w/ xtar vp2 [1 is sold on on there site & prices are best]. Gonna pick up some Samsungs for $7 on xtar site as well:) Gotta try the new Red IMR from RTD so that should last me a week lol, unless the charger can bring back my crap batteries. Not sure if they were shot from beginning, or intelligi charger messed up up. Maybe little of both!

I like the Aw 1600mahs, along with the newer 2200mahs.

...

The 2200mah lasts a few more ml's of juice, compared to the 1600. They hit about the same though- the 1600 might be a little harder hitting, at first, but don't stay above 3.7vs for as long... but still a long time: 0.5ohms I get about 3.5-4mls, until 3.7Vish with the 1600. With the 2200 I get ~4.5-5ml....

Ty for bringing up the new 20A, just seen those earlier today. I will have to try them.

My AW 1600mAh batts are about a year old, so I ordered a few of the new 2200mAh, should be here today. Looking forward to seeing the difference... and having a little greater safety headroom for my 0.6Ω -ish coils these days.

The 1600 has more headroom, it is a 24amp battery and the 2200 is a 20 amp battery. .6 ohms only pulls 7 amps so either have plenty of headroom for your build. you need to go below .25 ohms to worry about the difference. I just wanted to clear that up for others who may read this thread.

Oops, my bad. Thanks for the correction.

That's why I went with the 2200s recently. My usual builds are around .45 ohms. The 2200 still has plenty of headroom. I still have some 1600s; but the 2200s give me a little extra run time.

Not to pop your bubble, but the 2200mAH batteries have a lower continous max discharge rating than the 1600's. They supposedly *last* longer, but they aren't able to handle the max continous discharge rating of the 1600 mAH. The 2200 mAH is rated at 20 amps, while the 1600 mAH is rated at 24 amps. That said, your .6 ohm coil should only draw about 7 amps, so either way, you should be well within the "safety zone".

ETA: Dang it, FB! I should have known you'd post before I could type it :)

Thanks for taking the time and effort anyway AP! I'm glad with the .6Ω I should be fine anyway... I'll just enjoy driving more miles with the bigger tank and not be worried. No need for me to return due to my initial misunderstanding.

I think my brainfart must have been due to thinking of the older 2000mAh AW IMRs I was using before I bought the 1600mAh batts... IIRC, they have an even lower max discharge rate -- 10A, maybe? I was using 1Ω - 1.25Ω coils back then though.

Yep, you're spot on, 10A is what the 2000 mAH's are. All said and done, you should be golden with the 2200 mAH ones.
