When I smoke,I go through about half a pack a day on average, while I vape I go through 10ml of 6mg nicotine freebase a day on average,is vaping less harmful this way?

Yes, absolutely. The harm is not in the nicotine, it’s in the tar and 4000 or so other chemicals inhaled with the cigarette smoke.

In April 2016, the Royal College of Physicians in the UK published an evidence review to show, that the evidence to support that smoking is at least 20 times more harmful than vaping, is overwhelming.

Here's an interesting video interview on the subject of the latest evidence review from Public Health England (PHE).

Well I smoked 3 ppd day before I quit so even if I vaped three times as much as you do (I don't) I think I'm better off but you'll have to decide.

It was my health improvements that convinced me though, and those were measured by my docs. Both my PCPs told me to vape if that is what it took for the rest of my life.

Uh, I wish. I feel off the wagon catastrophically a few times during my vaping transition (that part was good, I must say because I felt awful the next day.) I also relapsed for a few weeks after my one year anniversary. That was BAD as I had trouble stopping but I listened to the advice of others I had given others and upped the nic like crazy in a few of my tanks. It eventually worked.

I'm a stress smoker however, so I have had a cigarette here and there, although the intervals keep getting longer. I think it's been over six months but I can't remember exactly. I am getting better at not smoking, and I doubt a cigarette a couple times a year is gonna do much to my health but now I just call me a perpetual quitter, and leave it at that. No anniversaries, and I try my hardest but I find this seems to be working for me.

Perhaps one day I will look back and say it's been several years but either way, I am supremely better off.

I’ve been vaping about a month no worries and feel much better, don’t get short of breath etc. My doctor told me to start vaping rather than smoking. I’m in the UK though, pretty sure vaping is frowned upon in other countries. We actually get free vapes in the UK to switch from smoking to vaping from the health service!

I was a 40 a day smoker from the age of 11. When I reached 50 I was smoking roll ups and tried many times to stop smoking to no avail. At the age of 53, I was hospitalised and told I really should stop smoking. I was coughing and wheezing and struggled to run due to lack of breath.
At 54, I switched to vaping along with my two sons. I only tried vaping to stop my sons from moaning at me and said to myself I would vape to reduce the amount I was smoking. I never intended to stop smoking.
3 months in to vaping, I quit smoking all together and not had a cigarette in nearly 6yrs now.
The transformation in my health was incredible. I no longer wheeze, I can run, I can taste and smell etc. 2yrs ago I had a full body MOT. My lung function age results came back as having the lungs of a 36yr old (shame the rest of my body is not the same).
I honestly believe if I had carried on smoking at the rate I did I would not be here now. Vaping was the best thing I ever did. I'm so much healthier now. Both my sons are still vaping too.
For me, it was a life changer.

I've read lots of journals and papers on smoking and vaping over the years. Sadly there is a lot of misleading information about vaping but my conclusions are that it really is a no brainer. Smoking KILLS and it kills by the thousands, both directly and indirectly. The damage it does to the body is overwhelming. The chemicals (over 7000 of them) are the cause.
The addiction to smoking was introduced by the combination of the chemicals to keep people buying them. It's not the nicotine on it's own.
Nicotine in e cigs is not as addictive as it is in cigarettes.
In the UK where I am, all of our medical organisations specify that vaping is greater than 95% safer than smoking. Not completely safe but then what is.

    Most Likely.

But are you Asking for Blanket Assurances?
