Just got mine in today; looks fairly clean so i think i can load it as is… i often never mess with the tank (no need to take apart)….

it came with a mesh wick coated with cotton… i'm going with RipTrip's cotton auto drip with a sub ohms micro….

will put on any of my devices…. but will use a good highC batt becaus i like to go low.

Mahalo! Care to share your Order #? I'm gonna give Brent's provided wick a shot before I try out Rip's cotton auto drip. :toast:

so, i got more vape mail today, and it was unexpected. Brent Carter? must be spying on this forum because i unexpectedly got better quality O-RINGS for the tank. awesome customer support, actually above and beyond cause i didn't even complain to vapinaze, i don't have the slightest clue how they knew i had complained on here ;)

now if they are making a black septar.... *hint hint wink wink* xD

atm i recoiled it cause while the cotton set up i got with it was stellar for a week or two, cotton only last about a week or two lol.

i recoiled it to a single coil 1ohm set up and it hits like a .8 due to that very small chamber
for more specifics, i'm also using ss wire rope (7x19) that i actually undid and it's prolly 3x19 or something like that. if you plan on using ss wire rope, go with 7x7, the 7x19 is hard to cut and is impossible to fit in anything that has less then a 3.5mm wick hole. it's wrapped around two layer wraps of 325 mesh.

just got a TCI for my RSST so i'm going to compare the VTF between the two.

Now that's going the extra marathon in terms of customer service! Go vote in the poll that Brent put up on their FB page; although, I think that poll is for future AL-1s or the AC9's successor.

Didn't get an order # wth my confirmation email…i ordered it on 9/6/13 Pre order.
I didn't get a shipping confirmation at all.
All i know is its a week or two beyond what the published shipping date was going to be… this happens all the time with pre orders.
Hang in there… its a sweet little atty.
Easy to set up…. and hits good. light too.

I got a .7 ohms coil micro 26g nichrome 7 wrap 5/64"…. the wick hole is 3mm. just like Rip's…. works great; good flavor.

Holy cow, i just put in an ohms converter calculator (online) …. .70 ohms at 4.2v = 25w, and 6amps…. geez. Its a nice cool vape which surprises me…. cotton puff micro coil.
I'm definitely going to get it lower, but will use a highC batt.
I have it on a Dees mod, and tried it on a Nem clone too… I find the connector goes in quite a bit to snug up the top cap … leaves a gap.
I have to find which mod will fit the right batt and not have a gap.
I'm finding this on a bunch of my mods with different batts…. hmm i wonder if thats why some are using flat top batts???

get a telescoping mod with a floating/adjustable center pin and insulator? sometimes in some mods the insulator isn't down deep enough for certain tops to screw down flush and all the way.

also, you gotta calculate the v.droop ^.^
no way i've seen anyone go subohm and actually achieve 4.2 lol. it's gonna be roughly 3.7~3.8

so apparently the first few that were sent out had the clear o-rings. they were the wrong o-rings. all of the al-1's come with the black flat o-rings now. the clear ones were made out of silicon, which is now clear to me why it was slippery for an o-ring. check your orings to see if you got the right ones. i'm going to guess anyone under my order number has the clear o-rings. expect another small package for the right o-rings to come soon.

Gadzooks! dropping in again to say this atty is pretty darn cool.

Looks really cool on just about any device anyway imo… its like total tech looking… comes with built in d/t?

Don't see it as a dual coil mod as of yet… but gotta say once you try dual coils with double air holes (you know one on each side) and real low ohms (of course use safe batts and meter you coils), you get spoiled for anything else….

Also most of the cotton ball wick geni's i've tried its better with lots of power for good vapor production… at .7 ohms mine is great; my juice is 6mg and mild so i take long drags…

at some point i'll go with wire and nextel… and even lower resistance.

Ok so I finally got mine today, it looks awesome! the draw is a bit tight for me but I can live with that, I don't think i will be drilling it out since the holes are so close together. Here it is with todays juice delivery.

got 2 AL-1's in the mail yesterday one for me and 1 for sweetie , like the ac9 had to force thread on my provari after acouple of times and cleaning it out screwed down nice and smooth i think alittle bit of the threads were painted , filled 1st one up 1.1ohm freakin awesome vape, now for #2 filled it up .......dead short.....hmmm, bumped the coil still short....remove coil and wick ....still dead short.....remove juice.....still dead short.....remove center post ...what a pain the insulator at the 510 conn just spins after 5-10min i get it out ...red o-ring at top seems ok...reassemble ...dead short...take apart again 5-10min after further inspection under a bright light and magnifying glass i found the problem...the center post is shorting where it goes thru the hole on top of the deck the small hole has no anodizing and that tiny ... oring come on so the fix was to put a piece of shrink tube on the center pin and also bring it over the shoulder of the pin that supports the o-ring but now it wont fit the hole....so now i have to drill the center hole ...after finding a dit just slightly bigger it fits and with the shrink going over the shoulder of the pin no need for a o-ring and now both are working great its just too bad i had to resort to such pains i have bought 2 AC9's /2 extra tanks and now 2 AL-1's i have not contacted brent because now they are working but i thought QC should have found this its a dead short oh well i hope these hold up as well as my AC9's but i will say the AL1's with the smaller chamber intensifies the flavor of your juices they are awesome i just hope they offer a top cap that you can use your own drip tip they do get hot

Yup, 510 threads could be smoother. I bet the painter/anodizer coated the threads without thinking and Brent had to have the coating removed?

After vaping a bit over 1ml on my kicked Private V2, I tried the AL-1 on the ZMax V5...the two didn't like each other. I experienced the same problem you did regarding the center post but was able to fix it by just tightening everything up.

I agree the vape intensifies the flavor nicely but damn, running the sucker @ 12W on my Private V2 the cap/tip combo can get hot after chain vaping deep lung hits, LOL!

Acc. to the specs on the website, the post is naval brass.

I've tried to find something conclusive on naval brass. From what I read, I've come to believe that the term naval brass is about added tin, and is no real indicator of lead content.

There is lead-free naval brass and there is naval brass with lead in it. Unless clearly stated otherwise, I assume no thought has gone into whether or not the brass contains lead.

Thankfully, the AL-1 description clearly says Lead-Free Naval Brass.

Edit: Not going for the bezzerwisser awards here. I apologize if it came out that way.
