Patkin... been on vacation only had an iPad and I'm new at that :) Saw your earlier post - not sure what may be happening but the eGo-c upgrade is the safest eGo. If you can only run in regulated mode that should work well. I figure you know it well since you've had it a while but some don't know that you have to 5 click to turn the batt on after switching modes. Stumped me at first... ;-) I've had one upgrade come out of mode during charging - but went back into mode easily and with no problem and didn't do that after that one time. Don't know why that happened. And I've had a few that went to 'lifetime death' without the problem you're experiencing.

Again, you should be good in the one mode though.

KentC, is the Halo Triton a clone of the eGo-c upgrade??

I have about (mumble -six) of them at 900mah each, believe they are regulated at 3.7v under load, and LOVE them.

They have that bizarre 808-inner thread + eGo skirt outer thread, which makes toppers a challenge (so far only SI and Halo carry them), but I still love mine.

Any ideas?

I wouldn't call it a clone because of the 808 threading, just a style knockoff, I suppose. The special thing about the eGo-c upgrade batt is that it has two modes - regulated and unregulated, and the button led changes in color as you lose charge.

"Regulated" usually means less than 3.7V, so if it runs underload at 3.7V then the Halo is likely 'unregulated'. I see the 'eGo skirt' but I also saw in a video that the protank mini doesn't fit it because of the raised center post for the 808, so I'm guessing that other eGo clearos might not fit it - depends on the design. The Halo clearo looks like an 808 'Kanger T2' (top coil, etc.) and for someone that has a bunch of 808 cartos the cone set up would be nice for those who want the mAh of the larger batt than the KR8. I went through a KR8 trial phase a while back. The burned cartos and the short cut off of the KR8's at the time (and the inconsistent threading) left me with a bad taste :) The lower resistance of the 510 atty got me much more vapor at the time. The 808 vendors did follow up with other variations but I was gone by then ;-)

When the eGo came along, I could use my stash of 510 attys and carts, so it was a good upgrade at the time. With certain clearos, they're a perfect vape for me. Virtually maintenance free and the batts last over a year. That with the cheap replacement coils and that I DIY most of my eliquid, except for Ahlusion ;-) .... the cost of vaping is quite low - I've figured about $10 a week.

Which is better Ego or Kgo? That's like asking what smells better: a hog pen or a sewer. Both are pretty rank.

guess that may not be true if you're a hog farmer or a plumber. Then it would smell like a paycheck!:thumb: And considering the garbage I had to wade through before finding my Kgo I was very happy to get them and it was a huge upgrade from what I had been vaping with before. I'm grateful for having bought my Kgos. They introduced me to a whole new level of vaping and I would recommend them to any beginner.
Any way, Sorry I haven't returned to this thread for so long. I went and got me an iTaste vv 3 and I love it and am thankful to all of you who helped and gave suggestions. I hope to get into more advanced stuff soon and it's really nice to know that there are so many great people with tons of knowledge willing to help out each other and guys and gals like myself that need the assistance.
