So I went to my local B&M looking at mech mods. The guy helping me out priced me on all I would need and showed me things he would suggest I get for my first venture into the mech world. He suggested the smok magneto for 30 bucks there. But they have the skeleton key for just 20 more, and I love the look of it and have heard good things. Anyone know some pros and cons I should know of each or other info to help me decide which one? I'm looking for a good, plumey (is that a word?), and flavorful vape.

Not all clones are created equally, and without knowing the clone, I'd say the magneto would be a safer bet.
I had similar thoughts. But keep getting brought back to how good it looks. Not a shabby job on matching looks. Of course doesn't mean anything when it comes to performance. I was told it was great, but the magneto was brought up for price reasons mostly.
I like the smooth button on the Smok Magneto. My B&M has both an Infinite and a Tobeco Skeleton Key clone. If I had to choose I'd choose the Infinite (or EHPro or HCigar over a Tobeco...even though I do own some Tobeco RBAs and they work fine). Really it comes down to aesthetics and personal preference. But for $30 I think that is a very fair price for the Smok. Good luck! 
Magneto is a great trouble free durable and affordable place to start with mechs.
Thanks for the replies. I've looked at a few reviews for each and am leaning toward the magneto. Seems like a great starter, and I can always get others later down the line anyways.
Yep. The first should be indestructible. My first mech was an m16 clone, thing is ugly, and rock sold. The magneto should be too.
I was looking at an m16 mod from fasttech. Just don't know if I feel like waiting forever for it to come in. Never ordered from fasttech before either. I originally planned to get the m16 with a doge clone rda and an ohm meter there. Then head to the B&M for batt, charger, wire and cotton that I would need to complete my setup.
Magneto was my first as well and remains my tried and true. I cannot get my Norbert off the top of it though.
