Hi all!

I'm new to e-smoking. I'm not a smoker per-se, but I do smoke occasionally. I want to avoid the health effects of smoking though and so I'd like to switch to the e-cig method.

I'd like something cheap, and that works. That's my requirements. Cheap and works, that's it. I probably wouldn't use it all that much, maybe once a day.

Any advice, what should I get?

Thanks guys!

:) go to review section to see which e cig suit u

there is many models..

classic penstyle

mini aka 901 which is the fav geneic ecig among here cos is cheap and quite durable and extras is cheap , atomiser ..batteries

and also branded ones TM kinds like janty , njoy ..sendensa?if I spell correct.

janty special feature is they got usb cable note , is include a recharging battery in the compartment attact to USB hard to explain u can go to their website to check.

and their manual switch which many janty users like .easy to draw and lots of vapours.

but since I mention is label as TM , brand , is abit expensive than those geneics out there.

forgot to mention one is 103 aka V2 this model is really look like a cig
but the battery and cart not lasting if u intend to use intensive.cos is small and short.Vapour if plenty and got a bit of draw when fresh cart and battery is used.but after just 5 puffs?or 10 puffs..the vapour is less and there is not draw

there is a new 89mm shorter than 103 .I didn;t tried before but I do feel is the same , battery and cart will run out fast since it is small and short.

next is e cigars..bling...this model I didn;t try yet too but there is one bling aka e cigar thread in the review section.

best go to search Ratinthe head? don;t know I get his nick rite

he done many nice videos reviews on e cigs and liquids.

DO check it out.

Okay...smoke occassionally...that is an interesting statement. I have never evolved to even a pack a day but found satisfaction in the fact those nasty cigs were in my purse. That when I was with the girls...feeling stressed...feeling like I just wanted to rebel or get a nic lift...I smoked burning cigs....so was I an occasional smoker? How about if I did that behavior for over 24 years? Everyone will tell you don't smoke if that is all you do...for me it was still an addiction. ecig vaping satisfies that addiction and now I am stinky burning smoke free. Good Luck

hey it's funny to see people's reaction to smoking occationally. ya, i mean the fact is that just like once a day lately is fine for me. if you don't smoke a whole lot then just like one cigarette (or even half - i've been rolling them lately) is definitely enough to clear your mind, maybe even better than if i were more used to them and smoked a pack a day, but i wouldn't know.

but i don't do it as a habit or anything, i do it for the nicotene. it's a destressing thing. and if you don't smoke that much (incl. phases where i don't smoke at all) a pack can last a loong time!

like caffeine, you know? but coffee's not cancerous. well hey, maybe i'm the odd one out here.

anyway, thanks for the recommendations, I might end up checking out the DSE901. but i'm in the US, are there any US distributors or is it like quasi-illigal around here?

We're not too used to occasional nicotine users around here, I think most of us are addicts. Sorry if I came across as snobby about that but it just seems a shame for someone who isn't addicted to expose themselves to something that is very addictive and potentially harmful.

If you're one of the few very lucky people who are genetically predisposed to being able to take or leave it then good luck to you. If you just haven't been exposed enough to create a regular addiction yet then please think carefully before you dose yourself up with nicotine, addiction is a pain in the .....

Esmoking isn't the only way to get nicotine if that's what you're after. There is a board on this forum about alternative nicotine products.

Puresmoker is often recommended and prices are very reasonable, that's a good place to start if you're sure you want to get into this habit.

it takes up to 3 years smoking to become a physical nicotine addict. this is the point when receptors in the brain are made permanent and the need for nicotine physically becomes apparent ( withdrawl , insomnia, shakes.etc )

Nicotine addiction is not instantaneous. "Addiction takes around two to three years — from the time a person first tries a cigarette to the point where he or she is smoking on a daily basis," Dr. Heishman says. In fact, the first drag often makes a new smoker dizzy and nauseous, thanks to nicotine's adverse effects.
Few people realize that pure nicotine is actually quite deadly. Nicotine is the active ingredient in some insecticides. "A couple of drops (about 60 milligrams) of pure nicotine would kill you," Dr. Heishman warns. For every cigarette a person smokes, he or she inhales about 1 to 3 mg of nicotine. Fortunately, the body quickly breaks down nicotine to keep it from building up to a fatal dose.

After repeated exposure to nicotine, your body gets used to the drug. The brain creates more receptors, the parts of a nerve cell to which nicotine and neurotransmitters bind. This process is part of why smokers get addicted. "With more receptors, you need more of a drug to occupy those receptors," Dr. Heishman says. That's what makes quitting so hard.

Interesting quote Apostle, three years until daily dosing sounds like a long time. Some studies say that nicotine is more addictive than ....... This post is interesting too - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...rates-power-nicotine-addiction.html#post16304
that paper sounds more how i got hooked. took me about 4 cigs i think ;)

saying that though , i never once even thought of giving up in the first 3 years.

My Wife smoked many years ago. social smoker really, perhaps 5 to 10 cigs a day. When we fell pregnant with our first sprog she just stopped , no problem. She'd only been smoking for a couple of years like that.

Wish i could have been more like her, it didn't seem to bother her in the slightest.
