So VapeBash 3 is right around the corner and I have decided to step my game up after working crazy amounts of hours and OT at work so I could save up and play with the big boys. I am currently using an mvp v2.0 which I love btw. I have a Kanger mini protank 2 v2 and a cheapo smoktech rda. I decided on the Russian 91% because of various features I like specially the airflow control because I normally vape high vg content ejuices. It's either 100% vg or 80/20 vg/pg I will also be looking to purchase a Patriot rda because I have read very good reviews for it and the pricing is good and also it is made in the U.S.A I was also looking to purchase an Aspire nautilus but after seeing PBusardo's review on the kanger Aerotank Mega I think I might wait for that or purchase it if they have it at VapeBash. So on top of all this I am also looking to purchase a new vv/vw device that can handle sub omhs and that the vw is not as "wonky" as the mvp v2 any suggestions? I was thinking something like the innokin itaste 134 mini or something along those lines. I don't like huge devices and think they look kinda too big at times but I know everyone's taste is different. And no I'm not ready for mechanical mods just yet. Anyway any help or suggestions would help out a lot thanks!

You can forget the Innokin products. NONE of them are suitable for subohm vaping. In fact, there are very VERY few VV mods that can handle subohm vaping.

You could look for a DNA30 based mod. That will cost you around $200. If that's too much you could try the Sigelei 20watt mod, but you'll be limited to a minimum of .6 ohms. Or you can give up on the VV and use a mech mod like most of the rest of us use.

What if I want to stick around the low 1 ohm or just under for sub ohms?

I bought the h-cigar nemesis clone a few weeks ago and absolutely love it with the Russian. I typically build my coils to about 1.5 ohms or so which gets me right around 11 watts on a fresh battery and lets me know when its time to charge because of the drop in vapor production due to the lower voltage. Also, be careful that your positive deck on your Russian is tight. I had an issue the other night where mine wasn't tightened down enough and spun when i was screwing the atty on my mod. The positive and negative decks were touching and caused a short, which heated up the battery and about scared the .... out of me.

I use a Kayfun on my MVP's and ProVari's all the time.

I don't know what the assumption that if you buy a Kayfun you need to sub ohm.

No where in the OP did the author mention that he was going to sub-ohm

I run my Kayfun at about 10 watts, which is pushing the upper limits of an MVP but works just fine on my ProVari. My builds are between 1.9 and 2.1 ohm builds using .34 Kanthal.

My point is that most VV/VW mods will push a Kayfun, it just depends on how your build it. Both pbusardo and Dimitris the Vaping Greek love their Kayfuns and ProVari's.

So don't let anyone tell you you need to get a DNA 20 or DNA 30 or go mech to drive a Kayfun. It's not true. If you want to sub-ohm, yes, but that is with any atty, not just a Kayfun.

Well all I see is people talking about sub ohming and that's all they do. I'm fairly new to vaping so I guess I was just following the crowed. I am probably going to use 28 gauge kanthal which is what I use now and I'm around 1.2 ohms and I'm perfectly fine with that and with what people say about the kayfun and Russian 91% it shouldn't be an issue and I won't have to go sub ohm. Thanks a lot your post has helped me a ton. Now I'm looking at the Sigelei 20w as an option. My MVP 2.0 is awesome and I love it but I also want to reward myself with a new mod.

I use my Kayfuns on my Provari'. But, I don't feel a need to go sub-ohm. I run a 1.7 ohm vertical coil with hemp fiber. I started vaping a year ago using genesis atomizers, I have 6 of them. They produce a fantastic vapor and flavor. When I got my first KFL clone it took some time getting my builds right but now it's a snap. I've found that the KFL does give a better throat hit, the Geni produces more vapor, and the flavor is about equal tough different (because of the wicking material used). VV/VW mods give me the ability to customize my vape experience, that I really like. Some juices I prefer to use in my KFL while others I prefer in my genesis. I ran a little off topic, but I hope it was helpful.

Might look at the ProVari as well depending on the price. I have money but don't want to spend anything over $150ish hopefully they will be for sale at a reasonable discount

I got my Provari from ProVape for $140 (blemished) but honestly I can't find the blemish.

IMO the Russian/Kayfun design is so efficient there really is no need to sub ohm, it's overkill. On my drippers yeah I do sub ohm at times but I've tried it and I prefer the Kayfun/Russian in the 1.2 - 1.5 ohm range and I vape anywhere between 10-14 watts.

If the Russian is your main concern and your not intent on trying subohm imo the best way to go is the Provari which is what I use with it most of the time. If you do want regulated sub ohming then a DNA device would be the way to go.

Too rich for my blood. I think I'm sticking with the Sigelei 20w for the Russian 91% and the Patriot rda I'm more than likely going to be building 1.2 - 2.2 omh micro coils

The Sigelei will fit your needs, but consider that Provari is US based and has a proven support program and you can even get a ring cap for a seamless look enjoyed by the mech modders.
Shouldn't dismiss the Vaporshark DNA30 currently being distributed.
I've own ZNA's, Hana's. MarkBugs WAE, and the Vaporshark. The VS is a worthy mod, may of had a poor start with the DNA20, but the currently distributed DNA30 is a real deal at $169 msrp.

You can't go wrong with a provari. The Russian, from what I've read, is a real device. It was put out by someone who was involved with the design of the kayfun. The difference was the adjustable airflow, which svoe mesto copied on their latest generation of kayfuns.
