I had to clean some cartos today and I hate it.:glare: I use them for like 3-4 days and when they get yucky I throw them in a tupperware to clean later. :blush:Im sick of it. They dont even really seem to work that great after you clean them,never mind when I fill one and then discover its dead and I wasted my juice.:ohmy:UUgghh! Im tired of it. I dont like cleaning cartos.:unsure:

I still clean mine all the time and with the right technique and equipment it is easy. When your Cartos lose their absorbent abilities, just rinse them under the sink, give the a thermometer shake and toss them in a container of water. As the week rolls on keep rinsing and tossing the used Cartos into the container. I just use on old glass and leave it by sink, once or twice a day I pour out the old water, let the water run in the glass for 30 seconds, then fill the glass and walk away.

Once I get 6 or so, I remove them from the glass and run those under hot tap water then screw those Cartos on a thing. I press a button and 10 seconds later the cartos are dry and ready to be refilled.

If I have been experimented with strong new flavors and don't like them. I will soak those Cartos in Vodka or vinegar, then rinse them out, let them soak a little longer hot water before drying them.

There are other techniques, but they are all so time consuming, and sometimes result in a lot of dead cartos.

I've never had great luck cleaning cartos. After washing and letting them soak/dry for a few days, they still don't perform that great and almost always have a strange taste to them. I've been meaning to grab some vodka to see if that will get rid of the taste but I keep forgetting.

However I keep used cartos just in case I'm waiting on an order to come in and need my fix. Bad cartos are better than no cartos.

I don't like cleaning them either! I throw them in a plastic bowl till I get quite a few and then run them thru water and put in my jewerly cleaner, for about 15 min, changing the water till it isn't yucky, then I put mine in the toaster oven for an hour or so and let them stay a day or two just to find that half of them are still bad and make juice taste funny!:confused:

+1 to "the thing". Karto Killing Katz likes the "thing". I still don't like cleaning & filling, it's a pita. Sometimes I think I'd rather just buy prefills & toss them like I used to. I'm soooo lazy.

I don't anymore. I just use them up till they don't perform then out the door they go. Come to think of it that's how I treat men :D

PS- Just kidding! I haven't even been on a date in over 5 years and that's ok with me :)

:lol::lol::lol: :D

So who cleans cartos? Not I, said the little red hen black cat. :)
