My first kit was a cigalectric I bought locally. One kr808 battery a charger and two cartomizers. It was 50 dollars. I was ...... when I realized what I could of bought online for that same 50 dollars. Alot of people screw up on their first kit, unless they were lucky enough to lurk on this forum first.

Think of it this way, it was like buying a disposable to try it out, lol.
You learned you need more than one battery, possibly several batteries in case of system failure. We have all been here at some point. More than I care to remember actually.
I have been doing this since 8-2010 and I am still keeping a pack of cigs just in case, lol.
I now have several batteries in different sizes so system failure is just about impossible now.

This. I was lucky enough to only try a disposable first and then lurked the forums here to find out I wanted an Ego kit and bought from Liberty Flights. Have been happy ever since
Yeah I bought a Vapor4life kit next. That really didn't do the trick. I finally got a riva and lr cartos from Liberty Flights, and that did the trick. I can actually vape and be satified now, and not have to worry about dead batts in the middle of the day.
I'm new too and this forum is the reason I have two batteries and two attys coming in my 401 starter kit. I have a PT and PCC coming too just to be sure. I did pick up a disposable first to make sure I wanted to vape. My plan is to

with the idea that I will shift as much as I can stand toward vaping. I already roll my own analogs using higher density filters (Vera Cruz Elegante tubes) and additive free baccy (The Good Stuff Natural), but they're still not harmless by a long shot. Having backup vaping gear will help prevent me going back fully on analogs and make it easier to get to a point of only enjoying the occasional analog. I figure I'll get to a point where I only smoke when I drink, which is about one beer a month and maybe four crazy nights a year.

Awesome mistake! Now you can advise all the newbie who believe that they can share one kit with their spouse 
Did the same thing for my first one. Only one battery per "starter kit" with the one I first bought. Man, I was a hurtin' unit when the battery died and took 3 hours to recharge. Still had a pack of smokes though. Had not made up my mind to quit right then anyway. Went back to the 7-11 and bought a second kit a couple days later. Few months later now and I'm smoke free! Got an eGo now and vapin' with the best of 'em.
First one I ever bought was the Blu e-cig, decent kit considering it was $60 for a PCC, 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, and 25 cartridges. I ended up losing it on vacation in SC (I think someone threw it away thinking it was an empty pack or something). The second one I bought was a 510 kit from cignot that was $65 and came with a PCC, 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, 2 5ml bottles of juice, and 5 prefilled carts. Now I'm rockin' the 3.7v box mod from madvapes that cost me $23 (parts, 2 14500 batteries, and the charger). I never have to worry about a PCC or batteries dying on me in the middle of the day.
I do think that the ePower kit is the way to go for new users though. Looks a lot like the eGo that everyone loves but has the batteries that'll last you all day long. Titanium E-Power Replacable Battery kit!

The money ripoff is bad enough but what's really bad about those expensive garbage types is that I thought all pv were bad. It wasn't until I found this forum that I learned the truth
Paid 45.00 from Premium e cigarettes and I got one battery (KR808D-1) and 6 cartomizers, along with a usb and wall charger. Then went to House of Vapor and got a travel kit for 19.99. @FenderMetalheade you are correct that is a Dean.
