One hour + report and it won't be very helpful I am afraid. Still no noticeable drop off. It was a pretty heavy vaping hour too. I am using the Tenergy charger though. I have a Trustfire charger but I don't use it much. My protected batts are only about a week old. Are yours older or did you have this issue right from the start? BTW an hour and half seems really short to charge these guys. When I put the new 14500 in I put a 16340 (880mah Ultrafire) that was still going fine on the charger and it is still red and thats been about an hour and a half. Did you buy all of those batteries at the same time?

Batteries are all new within a month or month and a half and yes, all have done it from the start. All bought at different times 2-4 at a time between DE and HighTechDealz.

Mine are from HighTech too. That just sucks and the worse part is it doesn't make much sense (different chargers too). Its obvious that the QC on these batteries is all over the place, but with that many batteries from different places you should have gotten 1 good one.

I think I'm right in this that all the 3.7v 14500's are produced by one OEM in china. So our choices are going to be limited. There are several USA Lithium battery plants being built but they are going to be catering to the automotive market.

How about this, wait until you start having these same issues with your electric or hybrid car. That's going to be fun I know.

I think trustfire, ultrafire, and anything else fire is made by the same place. But what about Tenergy and AW? They seem to be more respected in the battery world.

That's a mystery. Tennergy admits to their batteries begin built in China but don't say who the OEM is. I know even less about AW.

I am continuing my so informing thread with my whining, for anyone that cares. Okay, first batty lasted about 1:40 charged on a brand new charger before it dropped, so basically pretty much the same. Haven't tried any others yet.

What I have done is this: I have FOUR BRAND NEW ones I just received from HighTechDealz again, same type of battery. I am separating them from all the others and I am charging them for the first time on the brand new charger and let's see what happens. If I indeed have the same issues again with these, then it is not my chargers, and I will be so done with these batteries. This is the best test I can do with what I have. I will keep you posted for any that care.

It's too bad that you aren't open to trying the PS PT. It is about a 4.2 device and there really isn't much that needs to be done to the liquid to make it a real killer vaping machine. The hit is consistant forever, no drop in performance just a real killer vaping machine. I think you could just add a little VG to the stock juice and make it like you are used to at 3.7. You don't know what you are missing.

Hon, it's not a matter of being open, as I've had and owned their PT, was one of the first to get one. :) I don't like 510s on them and I had awful luck with my 901's going cold constantly, probably lost 10 or more of them on it and no matter what I did I could not get good flavor, just burning. It worked for me good right the first day or so, and I know Steve will say I'm doing something wrong, but I SORTA think it's my power pack I use because I don't like any PT's on it anymore. It might have more power than it says I don't know.

Also, there's something about PT's I really don't like. When sitting in my office, fine, but for everything else, no, don't like it. I get up and move around the house a lot and also am out working and I need a device that will work with a proper battery for 4-5 hours consistently and not being chained to something with a thick cord.

By the way those 14500's from HighTechDealz are the cheapest on the market. I don't know how these rate compared to the ones bought from DX or other sites with cheap batteries. I too bought some of the Trustfire 14500 from HighTechDealz.com but haven't tried them yet. If I were complaining about battery performance I would be trying batteries with a better reputation for QC like the Tenergy or the AW. just mu $.02.

Yes, Kevin, I believe you are right and the ones I got from HTD and DE look identical on the tops. You see.....these batteries USED to look different on the top with more silver showing than white. Now it is a huge circle of white with a small part of the positive silver thing showing.

Would you mind giving me a link to where I can buy some decent protected Tenergy ones? I would imagine they are cheaper than the AW.

*Somebody* who uses a 14500 AND has gotten the normal 4 hours or so out of it, needs to send her their battery. Lucky, I only WISH I had a known working 14500 to send you. I *do* have 4 brand new ones, never been used, still in the plastic -- but I got them from the same place as you and obviously have no idea if they're any good either.

I hate to see anybody struggle like this...

Lucky, you can have my batteries if you want them. Shoot me a PM.
