Well... didn't order yet.
As much as I love Puresmoker... but to be honest, I'm willing to wait this one out - although I'm in search of an e-cig mod that I'd definitely love... and Prodigy has definitely caught my attention. However, I'm willing to wait a few weeks for a proper review to come up. I haven't seen even a photograph of the real thing other than 3d rendering.

Hopefully, someone will have a decent comparison review between SD, Zi Moshi mode, GG, and Prodigy... which I'll be patiently wait for it.... which is the hardest part. ;)

As a long time customer of Puresmoker, I'm not waiting for the reviews. I already vape a 801 with a 6v usb battery pack so I know what it will do. Ordered 2 and can't wait to get them.

I haven't ordered one. I would like to see real pictures as well. I have a screwdriver and am perfectly happy with it. Additionally, I think for the price I'd rather have the Janty Stick. With a built-in USB passthrough and shared batteries with my e-cigars the stick seems like a better way to go for me.

I have an e-cigar and a SD, and can honestly comment that since the Janty Stick is using the 10430/10440 battery, it needs the pass-through. The Prodigy using a 18650 (or even a cr123) definitely has no need of one, so that's apples and oranges.

Now compare the price of the Janty Stick with an 801 with a passthrough (which is pretty much what it is) and tell me what is cost effective? For the money spent, the Prodigy blows the Janty Stick out of the water in terms of vapor production, battery life, and versatility. (And yes, I know I haven't actually tried it yet... since it's the same voltage/capacity as the SD, it's not an unsafe assumption)

I get just as much vapor out of the stick as I do my screwdriver. My magnum mod gets more vapor than either but the 6volts makes it too harsh for a long term vape.

It makes sense that the vapor out of the stick would be the same, they are both 3.7v batteries... but the capacity is vastly different. The 10430 is 360mAh, the 10440 is 500mAh. The CR123's are usually rated between 800-1000mAh. The 18650 is rated as high as 3000mAh, although most are 2200-2600. That's why a pass-through on the Stick is needed, but on the mods and the Prodigy they aren't.

Other than a sealed battery help me understand in what ways the Prodigy will be superior to the SD or LV...or is it just recycling the same idea of battery power.

You have more battery options as far as voltage and capacity. You can use one CR123 and a spacer for the same power/capacity as a SD, or you can use two CR123's for double the power (6v-7.4v), or use an 18650 battery for 3.7v at up to 3000mAh, for more than 3 times the battery life. It also has a recessed button that should be less likely to break, and not fire accidentally in your pants. I have no experience with the LV, so take this info for what it's worth.

They also plan on having adapters for the Prodigy for every type of atty out there though they are starting with the 901 and 801.

I think you hit the nail on the head, Walrus. Unless there is some "hitch" in the machining of the Prodigy, it has to be as good as the Screwdriver with better versitility. And since he is providing a 6 month warranty, I'm not worried about a manufacturing error, either. I think it is best to have two PV's incase something is lost or breaks. If you have the SD and the Prodigy, which share the same batteries at a few bucks a piece, you will have the two best PV's made in the world. I can't see any down side.

Thanks for the response. I love my SD. My LV is on the way. the one I am getting(901L) uses the 18650 battery as well, so I have to believe the vapor production and throat hit will be equal to the Prodigy.(at half the price) The adapter is no big deal to me since I only use 901's anyway..........

Dammit Walrus! Just when I thought I had successfully talked myself out of the prodigy you keep making good points as to why I should buy it. I have no desire for 6 or 7 volts but the 18650 battery has got my vapeing pants all crazy now...

My wallet is not happy with you...

Just buy the bare bones and throw in one atty to make it past the free shipping deal otherwise you pay for shipping so you might as well get a free atty. I'm really hoping this is going to be perfect for what I need withe the 901 and an all day out and about sneak a vape without ever having to worry about batteries.

I ordered the Prodigy....and I own the Zi Moshi 801LV. Since they both use the 18650 batt, I presume they're going to be comparable in most ways.

The only major difference I can see will be looks-wise....where the LV looks more like a mod and the Prodigy looks more "stylish" (from what I can see anyway). However, just the base for the LV is like $65....whereas the Prodigy is $95. Depends on what you're looking for, I guess.

I guess I should also add that although the LV looks more like a mod, you can also get choice of color, plus LED color, you can switch the batt around to have no LED, and it has an on/off button. That might be alluring to some also.

One of these days I am also going to do a LV vs SD review but in short, throat hit and vapor being comparable....I see a lot more pluses to the LV, including the price.
