No comment on the vendor response, but I just had juice mailed out to me priority mail 2-day on the 5th. Expected delivery date of the 9th. (I guess Saturday doesn't count for priority mail? whatevs). I followed the tracking and it was scanned at the same damn location 4 days in a row. Now on the 12th, the tracking at least updated to indicate that the package is in my state. Priority Mail 2-day, my .....

I definitely feel you, USPS doesn't seem to be all that consistent at all. At least your package is still getting tracking updates ^_^. Part of what makes me concerned is that my package was at my post office and out for delivery on the 5th, and there has been no updates since. I would be annoyed if I was one of those people whose package was making a couple laps around the country, but I would at least know where my stuff was. At this point it seems like USPS hasn't a clue where the package went. I'm still hoping that at some point it will pop back up on tracking, but I have long since realized that while you should hope for the best, you should still be prepared for the worst. I mostly just am trying to figure out what if any recourse I may have if 30 days down the line my package still hasn't surfaced.

More than anything, I'm just bummed as I just got my new Provari, I have a bunch of new tanks and cartos coming tomorrow, but I only have a single flavor of eliquid on hand and I'm utterly sick of it. I was so looking forward to some variety. Normally I would just buy some more eliquid from somewhere else to tide me over, but I have resolved to avoid spending any more money until my charge card statement cuts on the 15th which means I have to wait like 2 weeks (including shipping time) for something new to vape. Upside is I'm thinking I may order a Russian 91% or a Kayfun Lite when my statement cuts, so perhaps the RBA and new juices will come at the same time and I'll get the joy of a much better vape and all new flavors all at once.

That is a bummer, but I guess if your juice does show up it'll be steeped? lol.
My understanding is that when you pay for priority mail you are paying for up to $50 in insurance. Already included.

Sorry this is such a PITA for you, but it looks like you can file your own claim if the vendor doesn't want to work with you.
File Domestic Claims

I'm hoping that this just a case of slacker mail person and it magically shows up :mail:

So I ordered around $60 in juice from a vendor (I'm not going to name them for now as I'm still waiting to see how the situation plays out) that was scheduled to be delivered on 9/5/13.

The tracking shows that on 9/5/13 the package was in my city and out for delivery, and then nothing. There is 1 update after that that only says "Delivery Status Not Updated".

Over the weekend I emailed the vendor to let them know that the package might get returned to sender as I had yet to see it and because it looked like the Zip Code was wrong (I later found out the one on the tracking is the PO Box zipcode for my area). The vendor responded confirming that the Zip Code was correct on the label (by sending me a picture of my order receipt, not a copy of the label) and they weren't sure what happened.

I called the post office on Monday and they couldn't locate the package on site and were going to wait for the mail carrier to get back and call me back. No call. Called again this morning, they looked again, couldn't find it, this time the mail carrier was there, apparently he was not in last Friday, so he thought it might have ended up in the Parcel Lockers in my building and I had just not gotten the key, he was supposed to check, and call me back. No call. (Though I did receive my ProVari in the mail today, so I know there was a delivery).

At this point I email the vendor as I am now thinking the package is lost. From the tracking I know the package had $50 in insurance and definitely doesn't show being delivered. I ask them what I need to do to get a replacement order sent out, and how long they usually wait to do the insurance claim with USPS. They respond, "The shipping price does not include insurance, but if it gets set back we will let you know".

So now I'm a bit ...... off, as while it's possible it's just a misunderstanding, it seems to me that they are not going to replace the order and can still claim the insurance if the package is never found. I'm not sure if the listed insurance is just a mistake in the tracking system or if they used it on accident, but regardless, I just feel like this is crappy service. I'm not sure what I should do. I really don't want to file a charge back, as all I really want is what I paid for, but I also don't want to be out $60 for absolutely nothing.

All the threads I can find where mail has been lost in the past indicate that the Vendor more or less immediately offered to replace the order, but I'm not sure if that's standard, or if I'm expecting to much. Anyone have any experience with lost packages and how they worked out?

Show P.O it shows $50 ins included, It is there responsibility up to $50
I recently had a situation with a small order no ins and the P.O. would do nothing
but the ball is in there court
It is not the vendors fault so if the vendor does help you as 1 did with me that's great a bonus
but if they do not I might be a little annoyed but in reality its not there fault

Speaking of tracking and insurance and stuff... Unless USPS has recently updated something on the site I've never seen a tracking screen like the OP posted the image of. USPS tracking is here and provides examples of numbers for different services. => https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction!input.action

Since we don't know anything about the OP's tracking number we'll never know. But if it was real 2 day priority the number should start with 9205.

The trick to not having mail issues is have lots of excess the powers that control the universe only mess with stuff when you need it most so the way I see it to keep the vape gods appeased you have to have lots of excess. I hardly ever have mail issues when I do its mostly my fault.

So buy lots of stuff and you will be ok;-)

You paid for Priority shipping. That is insured for $50 so either you or them can file a claim. I do know they will tryt to locate it forst. I would give it a few days. Pacjages get misplaced but every time I have had an issue it showed up in a few days time. Give it a couple days and contact the vendor again. They sound like they are being jerk IMO. I have been ordering tons of vapemail for 2 yrs now and that was a pretty crappy response IMO.

I wonder if what browser you use could have something to do with what it looks like?

I don't think so I only use Chrome!
Actually I just copied and pasted a tracking number from my email into the tracking box on the link rickajho posted and when I hit "return" it still pulled up the yellow screen with my order. So weird.

Maybe USPS changed the results page recently - it's not like they have been busy actually FIXING REAL PROBLEMS LIKE FINDING LOST PACKAGES! It's been maybe six weeks since I last called up tracking on anything and at that time it had the far less impressive look that's it's had for years. Basic text - no fancy colors, box surrounds etc. Boring-er.

Did you order by any chance contain batteries? My order from a US vendor did with 2 day shipping and it's been 5 days now, 6 as of tomorrow.

It may not be the vendors fault, but it is their responsibility. Any vendor that wouldn't behind a delivery service of their choosing, doesn't deserve the business.

If you never actually received the item, then your credit card company may allow a dispute. Either way, it will get the vendor to act.
Speaking from the standpoint of someone that deals with a LOT of shipping/receiving from a corporate standpoint - everything from standard ground to hot-shots, penny widgets and six-figure parts, I have to respectfully disagree. In *most* circumstances, unless the vendor is also acting as the carrier, it's your property once it gets put in the box and handed to the carrier. Any disputes or issues with not receiving the items lie between the purchaser and the carrier.

Now, MOST vendors will work with you and the carrier to help sort issues out, but if you didn't buy insurance, it's your loss. Sure, you can do a charge-back, and because most small businesses don't have the resources to fight a legal battle over $100 worth of merchandise, your credit card company will side with you 99% of the time.

I say be nice, work with the vendor, and do everything you can to make sure you insure your packages if they will contain something you really care about, or can't afford to lose. An extra $2 is worth the peace of mind.
