I build my wife 1.6-1.8ohm 30 gauge in her subtank mini. I can't go any lower or the way she vapes she would have the coil burnt in a few days. I have to build to fire my provari, almost 3 years I have been using that provari day after day (need reliable PV) at work but at home I like to vape the lower ohms on my box mods. The stock clapton that came with the TFV4 I bought got me onto claptons and they are great vapes so I now make 28/32 builds so it can fire my provari and 26/30 to enjoy with my other mods.
Its more the "I can do it" in my low ohm coil building than cloud chasing, I got nothing to prove other than I can gulp down a subtank full of juice in a episode of CSI with a good clapton build.

Hi,

I was wondering how many of you still vape on 1.8ohm Kanthal (or close to that). I haven't caught on to subohm vaping even though I have a Triton tank. I like the way higher resistance coils heat up slower (so I can take longer draws), as well as the increased battery life and reduced heat.

I kind of feel like it's older tech though, so am curious if I am the minority these days, trying to recreate the vape of my old ego =p

Thanks!
I don't sub ohm. I mistakenly upgraded fdom a Halo Triton vape pen to a Herakles tank and a Sigelei mod and it was POW! I am currently using my Halo Triton vape pens, and Aspire Nautilus tanks on the following: 75w Sigelei mod, Halo Tracer, and Provari 2.5. So far i am pretty darn satisfied.

My two favorite setups are a ProVari P3 with a Kabuki or KFL+V2 topper, and a BilletBox. The Kabuki is a flavor chaser's dream, and uses Nautilus BVC coils -- 1.6 or 1.8. The flavor is better than anything I've ever tried, including dual .6 ohm and Claptons. The BilletBox can use rebuildables, or 1.6-1.8 BVCs (not Nautis). Outstanding! I've come full circle: flavor is where it's at, for me; it's what keeps me far far away from analogs. I think there are more than a few of us out there :)
Omg i want a Kabuki. All about the flavor!

Christmas 2014 I gave my brother an N mini with spare coils, which last him a month, an iStick 20 and a botle of juice. He vapes 2 ml of 12 mg nic per day which he buys online, $20 for 120 ml. He finally quit smoking completely after some months. His cost for the year including the stuff I gave him was about $200. He has no interest in changing anything. I did persuade him to get a backup mod (iStick 40) and I gave him one of my N mini tanks. I think his vape is just about perfect because it's dirt cheap even without DIY or rebuilding.

The Kayfun is 28g at 1.5, Subtank mini 28g at.7, and the drippers 26g at or between .2 and .3 (dual and quad).
I started using Kanthal this spring because everybody said it was the shiznit, but have also been using Nichrome (was the shiznit) since about 2009.
