Why all the grudge towards Vapor Joe and the VU site?

I've not seen that here, at all actually, which I see as strange given the blatant Animosity from him toward ECF
At ECF you have Moderated Discourse, over there you have The Wild West..............to each his own
Mutual misdirected emotions due to simple difference of opinions I suppose.

I don't know where it started, but I do know they are even worse when it comes to banning. Whiskey banned me as spam (permanently) because she didn't like my opinions and I told her off. After she told me to... Here, a mod caught me on a bad day and I went off on him just as bad, but was only banned for a couple days. Whiskey egged me on for a couple days before I told her off. And she claims they are so much better over there.
The only thing they have going is no profanity filters. I've heard it said that making a site about an adult only product child friendly as far as language is promoting vaping to children. I don't fully agree or disagree with that, but this is also an English owned and run site, and English do see things different than Americans like myself. Once I learned that, it's easier to avoid stepping on toes here.

I have learned alot from both sites sence I started vaping. It seems that each site has different prospective on vape, like recreational vaping and cloud chasing.

Well, I'm on r/c car websites where a couple of minors admit that was how they justified it to their parents. "See, it's kid friendly. Just a way around bs rules that should be changed soon..." Kids will say anything to get their way, and under informed or uninterested parents may believe whatever. I let one of them have it pretty good, as did a couple other adult vapers, but it could be used against us. But, some people prefer being politically correct. Doesn't matter to me, I can deal with pc or f-bombs every third word. I grew up watching the smurf's, so I can translate the stand in word for the ignorant fairly well by context.
A lot of the filtering is for specific reasons.
Drug talk is banned so google search links cant be used as evidence we also promote drug vaporizors or anyone saying see they use them for that too.
Adult language and situations are banned not to make the site kid friendly, but to make the site safe for kids, family and work.
Last thing you want is a video suddenly blaring f this and f that! While your 3 year old is standing there next to you.
Or not getting flagged in work or public places for NSFW content.
Vj was banned for something stupid and decided to go full revenge mode. Then got banned permanently.
Look around, youll find a specific section at vu just for ecf haters. And all they do is whine about how ecf rules suck.
The most amusing part is theres usually open dialogue about stuff going on here at ecf, they hate it so much they had to leave but keep coming back to know what we are talking about. And many of those posting they are done with ecf can still be found hanging out here lol.
You want to see animosity? Vj and reddit hate each other fiercely.
The guy has a chip on his shoulder and no one knows why really.
On a small forum I go to in EU they are known as angry kid joe and the butthurt brigade.
I have nothing against anyone there and pop in from time to time. But many areas dont move enough to keep me occupied for long, and the constant focus on "taking down the evil ecf" bores me to no end. Could be a great place if they put that much energy into vaping related issues instead of hating other forums.

I don't really know what their issue is with ECF to be honest, but i haven't noticed any animosity from ECF toward them. The reverse is definitely not true lol ... I do believe the filters on this site won't allow a link to their deals blog though. Not sure why.
For me, Vapor Joes from it's inception hasn't really been that valuable of a resource for vaping/product information. It was predominately established as an Affiliate Marketing site that quietly embeds tracking cookies when you click on a deal and if you purchase Vapor Joe's gets a percentage commission. Nothing wrong with that entrepreneurial approach but their content is provided more as a financial benefit to the owners and not geared toward the overall benefit of the vaping community.
I can understand all of that. Makes sense to me. Joe is stuck up, used to getting his way by throwing his name around and setting his dogs on anyone that won't suck up to him. I would like to meet him in person and see how he reacts to a face to face confrontation. I would bet he kisses .... until he is safe behind his computer. I've heard he is bashing the Disruptor giveaway on his site too. Why because they wouldn't do it on his site?
I'd venture a guess that it's a competitive situation where this site also uses Affiliate partner links as a method of revenue generation to pay the hosting bills. It's not as obvious here as it was prior to the board software change. Both sites are Affiliate partners with some of the same vape gear suppliers.

Really tho...ECF isn't about griping about other places...never has been and never will be.
There is a place on the interwebs for everyone's interests.
To each their own...our rules are in place for a reason...they aren't going to change
