I have the stainless Lava tank. I can't enjoy this thing at all. It forms condensation in the mouth piece constantly and I get juice in my mouth every time I hit the thing. :?:

I have tried everything from leaving the carto rubber tip on, putting an o-ring on the top of the carto and putting an o ring in the top of the LT. Besides the nice look, this thing is a $70 paperweight at the moment.

Can anyone help? I can't believe these things are so popular with this flaw. I'm sure there is a fix but I am out of ideas.

Thanks!

are you punching just one hole in the carto or two holes? How big are the holes you are punching? Ive only had the issue you are explaining happen once with my Lava Tank and it was because one of the holes I punched was WAY too big. I now only really punch one little hole at the bottom of the carto and occasionally 2 if its a thick juice. its probably coming up into your mouth because the hole is so big its flooding the carto.

I think it is a combination of juice working it's way up the sides of the carto (no o-ring in the top of the tank to prevent this) and condensation forming in the cone before the draw hole. It's not a flooded carto tank, not my first rodeo ;) NEVER get any juice in my mouth on any of my other tanks.

Any Lava Corps pros out there have a work around/fix/tip?

Thanks for the help so far though everyone.

I've tried every hole combination. I know it isn't a flooded carto as the top is white and dry. Definitely a condensation issue from juice wicking up the sides of the carto and forming micro droplets before the draw stem.

I see what you are getting at now....maybe it was just that...a poor design then. Maybe thats why so many of the SS Lava's have been up for trade or sale recently.

I'm thinking that at this point. I'm hoping for Superman/girl to give me the holy pro tip > We'll see

If it is indeed a design flaw, you might work around the issue by using a longer drip tip. Perhaps one of the Siam Mods stainless steel tips would work. Super T makes a really long metal tip...I think its called the Tanbur or something. Anyway, the longer the mouthpiece the less likely condensation will make its way to your mouth.

There was a thread about long unique drip tips here on ECF about a week or two ago.

Thanks for the help Baditude, cool name :) I actually have that Tanbur haha. Definately a home tip lol. The Lava Tank in question is an all in one style tank, check this out....

Yeah, Baditude is an old screen name from my online gaming days on the X-box. Just always kept the name, its even on my license plate. :2cool:

I should have thought about the one piece design of the top endcap. I have the same thing on my Bella-Phiniac tank. I'm outta ideas.
