I can't give any suggestions on an upgrade device since I've not used any of the newer stuff (got my favorite set up a couple years ago & quit buying new things after that)

As for a tank with outer threads, I liked Evods. I know there are better toppers out there now but these were always very good for me and they're not incredibly expensive.

:toast: That might be a first - I'm going to stop buying new things, because the toppers that I used the first 6 months of vaping, I continue to use.

ellejewell, you didn't say whether your ce5 is a top coil or bottom coil - I see after a quick search it can be either. The t2 is a top coil and will give a different type "hit" from the Evod, which is a bottom coil. Both are ego/outside thread. Both are good for me. China is a mess - name's and trademark's are copied.

I don't want to push websites but this place has genuine Kanger stuff and is cheap $5.29 for a pt2 mini and $9.99 for 1000mah batteries

Kanger Wholesale USA

Yes, good price on Kanger evod 3.7 volt batteries. I on their email list already -shipping is $10, but might be worth it for a large order

Mine are top coils! so will the t2 use the same heads for the wick and coil as the ce5? I have like 30 heads! if not then I guess I will use up what I got for as long as I can before I upgrade and just pray and hope the adapters dont strip out as easily as the threads on my battery. Newbie mistake of not checking to ensure I had true Ego batteries. I suppose they should say joyetech on them? mine only say ego t

I'd put Joye on the upper part of the list, but also Vision, Kanger, And maybe Smoketech also. They'll cost more initially but..........

Consider a Passthrough also, you can vape while charging and it uses a mini- usb plug instead of those wacky ego chargers.

No, the kanger T2 head is different. Always come here and ask -lots of good people that can help. Since you have a top coil clearomizer already the thing to try would be a bottom coil clearomizer like this Kanger eVod Bottom Coil eGo Clearomizer | Kanger eVod 1.6ml BCC eGo clearomizer or the Smok tech linked previously - a lot of these bottom coil clearo's take the Kanger universal head http://www.surevapes.com/kanger-protank-unitank-evod-replacement-coil-5-pack.html

I'm not trying to sell anything - just a consumer like you - but for the future, that's what I would look at getting. And Surevaps has free shipping for only a $10 order.

First, the dealer should say that they are Joyetech -and probably would if they were. They will cost more.
But to answer the question - some of mine do say Joyetech and the one I'm looking at now doesn't. It has the trademark on the end-cap and I know its Joyetech - part of the 2 kits that I bought in June of 2012 - but all that's written is "ego-c". That's the one i charged-up after being in storage for over 2 years and its working fine. But, besides a quality difference in batteries, there is also a voltage difference. Joyetech and some generic are 3.3 volts. Kanger and Kgo are 3.7 volts. Just something to be aware of -you can use either, the 3.7 volts will just "hit" harder.

Most smaller clearomizers use the outer threads, which are much better structurally, especially for portable use. The 510 connector is good with all steel parts, but when the expectation is to use the eGo thread, they usually aren't. I think it's usually chromed brass on both sides. The Nautilus Mini is a bad design at this point as a portable clearo because it doesn't recognize this, vs. the Kanger mini Protanks using eGo even though the fullsize uses 510. I actually think the tendency for everything to use the 510 is to avoid association with eGo type devices.

As to "cheap crap" etc., I saw a review with a complaint that with a $10 starter kit only 5 out 7 worked. While this was inconvenient for someone getting gifts for 7 people, having one of them myself, I can say that a working one is as good or better that anything else you can get for its size OR you can get for $14. Just to put things in some perspective....
