Right... works for me except I'm not real picky on the 5ml... give or take a ml maybe... what a shot glass holds. I have also used an eyewash cup. Anything that will hold a small quantity of distilled water and I can easily dip my finger into. Anyway, I'm not precise at this point.. but it will give me a good idea if the maple I have will work with that new waffle I just got and how many drops (what ratio) of maple kills the waffle. If they go well together, then I get serious about measurements. I like using water because there's really no steeping time required and, of course, saves my bases from huge mistakes.
