Why are there so many hipster/douche types in the vape community?

between here and there
I have to agree with the OP. First, let me qualify myself. I am Old and don't listen to any music recorded after 1968 (still have my vinyl copies). I stopped by a vape meet at a local chain restaurant and occasionally go by the B&M's here and even though there are exceptions, I find most of the patrons to be 20 somethings, long unkept hair, and covered with tatoos. They kind of remind me of "wantabee" hippies from the 1960's but just aren't sure how to pull it off. I am a firm believer that you have a right to be whatever you want to be but before I left the "working world" I was in charge of hiring decisions for my company. Some of these people, just based on appearance, would not have had any chance of a callback. Most here may think me as unreasonable and judgemental, but at least for a few more years it will be old farts like me that hand out the jobs.

As to the op, I find that those that accuse others of 'something' are usually quilty of the 'offense' themselves. Just not aware enough to acknowledge it to themselves.
To UT1205:
It has become harder to place qualified individuals in positions when they visibly display what most older folk would consider 'undesireable' for the workplace. Unfortunely, the younger generations don't seem to have the guide lines that we had when coming up. I sometimes worry about the outcome of their lives, future business models, and the overall outcome of what this all represents. AS this world continues to change, we have to adapt in order to survive. Not hiring a qualified individual due to their appearance and hiring someone with lesser credentials both can harm a business. If he/she has no public contact, then ones appearance should not have any serious implementations. However, all generations(old and young) must understand, if a position is one where they interact publically, then they are the face of the company they represent and must abide by what is socially acceptable to the clients and the bosses.
Soapbox off.......

P.S. Have you seen ADC lately...yikes...sux getting old!
I actually think he aged well! I feel most of the shock is seeing him dress the same damn way he did in the 80's and still doing the same routines. Now that qualifies for a "have you seen him lately!" .
