Hello guys,

So living in the States while being from Europe I get to see both sides of the vape industry and how all markets are different.

The one thing I noticed is that hardly anyone in Europe is participating in this hype of cloud chasing. Most set ups are simply based for your regular mouth to lung vapor.

So my question is, why do you believe that we are so crazy about cloud chasing? Please no replies like "Bigger and better USA" I really would like to know why this market is so crazy about this stuff. Is it that we follow the Thai style of vaping or what is it?

Please Note: Personally I see a danger with cloud chasing but I believe whatever works to keep you of cigs is the way to go. I don't care either way I just want to get some input to see if you guys know why we are so different to the European market.

I don't agree with cloud chasing much myself, I feel as though it brings an element of sport into what we're doing. You don't really see people having smoking or other tobacco product competitions. I'd like to see someone chain a pack in 30-60min or see who can hold a lipper of dip the longest without spitting or swallowing. I think you don't see this because it's a quick recipe for nicotine toxicity. In the end though, some people vape to quite, some for hobby, and some for sport. Some float among the groupings.

It's for the same reason that we build Monster Trucks and pumpkin chuckers, have nitro tractor pulls, skip snowmobiles across lakes, make rap music and drive a block and a half away rather than walk. Other nations are more mature, have the wisdom and caution that come with age, have gone through more personal trauma and have aged gracefully into understanding the concept of "just because we can doesn't mean we should" When thinking about the US, you have to think of it as that delightfully odd ball, trust funded, bi-polar, brilliant autistic younger brother who is blowing up the garage doing something goofy like trying to figure out how to launch basketballs across town one minute and then figuring out amazing medicine for the benefit of all mankind the next. He drives you crazy one minute but you still love him. That's America.

I lived in South Italy and they get what is needed no what is wanted. What works works for them, not so much for us. We always have to get better. For example if you have lived in southern italy do you see big vehicles or anything un-needed?

Except pasta, all bets are off when it comes to fancier pasta.

I think cloud chasing is a lot like hot rods and race cars. Hot rods are a lot like rock and roll, leather jackets and Fonzi, we are rebels. That's what makes us Americans, we rebelled against the King, gave em the bird and said who needs ya lad. Then we almost starved to death, lied cheated and stole from the natives, gave them the bird again this time with cannons and muskets, and then pilfered other humans from different lands, pwned them on paper with some legal backing, and profited from the dehumanization of said labor, and generally showed our ... in many other ways.

Then after coming up with the best weapon, our parents felt like things were good and told all the kids they were special, patted them on the back and busted their rumps so the kids could have the good life, and came up with the god awful idea that every kid, even the losers, deserves a freaking trophy.

So that brings us to a bunch of rebellious, greedy and spoiled kids running around wanting to make "statements" to said older rebels, and think they should get a freaking trophy.

Who knows, cloud chasing might just catch on over there. I mean it's not like rock music was a total failure across the pond. There's been an artist or two spring up from over yonder.

Oh yeah, and don't forget we think we have the "right" to do pretty much anything, pack weapons, etc. And once someone invades our vapemeet with big clouds, you can believe we will stand our dang entitled ground.

I know it doesn't fit in here but man some true Italian Pasta with a great local wine there was nothing better than pairing that with a cig in between and after. I miss true none touristy Italian food. Now I want to start bashing on Olive Garden but I leave that for another day.

Oh my I miss the home made pasta sauce and wine. But, you smoked everywhere there also. So I would not like it as much now.

I was with you until the last section. It needs an edit - 'then figuring out amazing medicine for the benefit of all mankind that can afford it' would be more apt...

I think it has to do with the fact that we have more freedom. which also means we have more to lose, but at the same time it is less likely that vaping will be banned all together. While if everyone in europe was blowing huge clouds in the city more people would take offense and it could get outlawed because of socialist governments that can do that sort of thing.

I also think that in europe people have a smaller bubble of personal space so they dont want to invade other people space as much with lots of vapor. mix that with the majority of populations living in citys (or denser population per space than america) and voila! not many cloudchasers.

    Just my opinions

You can bash on the Olive Garden. Most people bash on Olive Garden while in Olive Garden! Olive Garden loves to advertise their authentic italian cuisine. No one goes to Olive Garden for their pasta. Their appeal can be summed up in four little words: Unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks. It's good soup, better salad and great breadsticks. Take your entree to go and give it to the homeless on the way home after you've filled up on soup, salad and breadsticks.
