Why can't everyone be so nice?!

Sorry to hear Pri....the world is full of sad and unhappy people I'm afraid, but we can choose to ignore the azzhats and not be sad.

The hardest thing there is, is being yourself....never be ashamed of it :)

Remember too, no-one is always happy. Unless they are on Haldol...hehehe.

It's ok to be sad sometimes.

Not sleeping yet no, and nah, I sleep like the dead once I get to sleep.

Well, excepting my Tiki...last night she went to sleep after her belly rubs like usual, we kinda cuddle when going to bed, not close as she likes her space...i have my arm over her and she curls up and goes to sleep. How to say...we both like having some contact, even if just a paw on my arm. She's a cuddly kitty on her terms.

I know, doesn't sound very cat-like, but its what she does. She curls up next to me like a dog.

Then, she went speed-racer kitty this morning on wood floors....and her breed can hit 35mph in a sprint. Ya, I woke up...lol

Yeah, people are better bedmates for many obvious reasons, but a good kittah isn't bad to curl up with either. She's big enough I don't have to worry about squishing her either...lol

She is a independent cat, for sure. She just chooses to be cuddly sometimes. I like that.

If I don't feel like being cuddly or rub her belly at bedtime, she'll chirp at me sharply and usually smack me with her tail a fair bit, but she get over it and curl up nearby.

We have a routine though. :)

aww..you have a 'routine'! oh how darling....happy for you....really Caff...I miss that....

I miss it too, and yea, I know what you mean.

Put simply, once you have spent a long time sharing life with another, as I have several times, you miss that flow, that regularity. The intimacy. The arm casually thrown across, but expected.

I'm single and have been for a long time, but I admit, having Tiki does make it better.

I know that as soon as I lie down, Tiki will walk around me or jump clean over me, knead the pillows, then find her spot near me. Then, she'll wait to be petted and cajoled into a spot near me, but one that is comfy for her. She hates rumpled or uneven surfaces for some reason. She's gonna do turns like a dog, then flop down like a 12lb dump truck to be belly-rubbed. Or, I get lashed with the tail when she moves away. Then, when i tire of scratching her furry belly, we sleep.

Been that way for months now. She slept next to me the first night I had her. We're soulmates as far as cats go. She chirps, I understand. :)

No, I'm not her slave at all, I choose to be a symbiotic being to her.

Right now, she's sleeping like 6' away because I was doing stuff. But, the second I go to lay down to sleep, she will wake and walk over.

Ive never had a 'normal' cat. ;-)

I'm a Leo and a descendant of Druids, why would I? Cats are power, not just familiars.

Egyptian Mau - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Look at the Bronze Mau, and my pics of Tiki. Yes, she is a Mackerel Tabby...but far more...

They say, she can't have Mau in her as it's a protected breed, but she does. She has all of the traits and physical signs of Mau being in her blood. She has the spots, the chirping and prancing, the belly pouch, the extreme muscles for her size and her speed when she wants to is off the charts.

Even how she is sitting right now, is a non-cat-like stance for any other breed. She's a gorgeous musclebound freak of a cat that I love. :)

That she came into my life randomly on a Friday the 13th. means nothing...right?

It's called "Well Met".

When she chirps, I hear her and I chirp back. We chat. When she wakes me up, I ask her why. It isn't always food. Most people have lost the ability over the centuries to listen to animals and actually hear them. To feel what they feel.

Example: my brother and I don't get on, but his pitt bull and I do. I was at the house the other day...his dog barreled downstairs to where I was in the basement working on the computers, just to slobber all over me and be petted. He didn't want to leave. That is 100 pounds of truth. He knows I'm a good one.

Fear begets fear.

I've jumped in the corral with excited horses who didn't know me..who also didn't kill me. They could have crushed me or stomped me in seconds, but they didn't. I believe in the Druid power of my ancestors that is not of power for it's own sake, but of symbiosis with Nature.

Most sane things want honest love and affection, animals are no different.
