wow....i can't believe my thread has received so much attention, and i must say it took quite the funny turn too.

i'm glad something has been said about this issue, and many have seen it.
i'm pretty sure that even though this thread has become ironic has hell, people reading the first post feel me on this issue.

I understand your point, but also understand the difference between telling someone the answer to their question and telling them what they need to hear because they don't know the right question to ask. I myself would probably preface with something like "I know you said x, but have you considered y"
