I have been vaping for almost 3 months now and still CRAVE analogs. I have been able to get down to about 3 a day but quit analogs. I've even got a SID and rda, cloud chasing and what-not. What can I do to kick the "stinkies"? Would kicking up the nic level help? I'm vaping 6mg with a 1.2ohm coil at like 12w. I'm ok when at the house, but on my breaks at work I still find myself bumming analogs. HOW DO I QUIT?!?!?
Same here, I wont smoke a single cigarette at home and be quite happy with my vape, but at work I may bum one on my breaks.

You quit with willpower. Realizing that your cravings must not be listened to, is the first step. Our brains are powerful machines, either to crave something we shouldnt want, or to overcome that craving.

The nic you are vaping is way different than the thousands of engineered chemicals you create while burning cig tobacco. Nicotine is only one chemical, and fact is, its not the only one thats addictive. Big tobacco has engineered the chemical profile during combustion to be as addictive as possible. Our cravings are no mistake.

But seriously, 6mg is super low. Try a 12mg liquid and see if that helps. I vape somewhere in between 12 and 18mg, and I still crave a smoke every once and a while.

I was a 1/2 pack a day smoker since 4th grade. I'm, well... older now. :) Hopefully a little more wiser. When I transitioned over to vaping I jumped over at 24 mg's. I went through 60 ml by the end of the month & my throat was hurting. While I don't have the "perfect" vape set up yet I will say I've cut back to 18 mg's & I'm still not smoking. I'm enjoying the different flavors that are out there. I have signed up with zamplebox, not a bad lil investment. I say investment because I'm spending less than smoking & I'm no longer waking up hacking up a lung. LOL

Agree with one of the above posts: Don't beat yourself up. Everyone quits at their own pace. The important part is that you don't give up and that you keep trying.

When I first read your post the first thing I thought was the same thing as others have pointed out: 6mg of Nic is too low. Go with above advice on choosing a higher nic level.

I was a PAD smoker and started on 24. Really took to vaping more than I thought I would. Gave up the analogs in about 2 weeks. I went from a PAD to about 3-4 cigs a day almost instantly and weaned myself from there.

I've heard 2 different thoughts when it comes to quitting and both make sense. 1 thought is to totally throw away the cigs altogether and only focus on vaping. For some that works, but I'm not sure that would have worked for me.

The second thought is to keep the analogs around, even if it is just a psychological trick of you knowing they are there if you need them. I kept mine around and if I wanted a cig I went ahead and had one, but still tried to wean myself down. I still remember going about 3-4 days without an analog and then trying a cig just because I could. Wow, the taste was terrible. Vaping is great because of the wonderful flavors you can get and still get the nic too.

I haven't smoked in 2 months and don't crave them anymore either. But just like the feeling of being down to only 3-4 cigs, I still get "nervous" when my juice supplies start getting low. Lol, dang nicotine addiction. I do still have my last analog pack with 3 cigs in the pack. Just haven't thrown them away yet. I'm sure I will soon because I don't crave them anymore. They are sitting in the side pocket door of my work van.

I also worked my nic levels down. 24 didn't last long, started to make me jittery and shaky. Dropped to 12, and now most of my juice is at 6. Still keep 12 around too to help if the nic craving gets stronger. What I did find is because it's so easy to vape, I vape a lot more than I smoked.

Long story short: Stick with it and keep trying. Part of it is the addiction, the other part is you being motivated and determined. Just don't get so frustrated with trying that you quit trying. Keep at it and you'll get there

I'm in the same boat as the op. I started this a week ago, and was using 12mg juices. I finally made it back to the shop, picked up some 18mg juices, and set my quit date for today!

Since starting vaping though I dropped from 10 cigarettes a day to only wanting 3-4. The need for a cigarette is not as bad, but I didn't want to push myself.

We can do it though! I am with you on this road to quitting!

When I quit I was vaping 18-24mg constantly! I've since dropped down to a 12mg but I was smoking marlboro blacks. It does take work to totally stop but so worth it. Trying to convert my fiancé over but he's still smoking analogs like there's no tomorrow. But he says smoking without me is lonely. Lol just keep up the good work!

6mg is nothing. It's about equivalent to ultra lights. Most people start at 18mg or even 24mg.

But guys, the OP is hitting a dripper. Dripping 6 mg is like 24 mg from a tank. You try to rock some high mg juice in a dripper and your head might explode!! Been there, done that!!

You cannot quit analogs because you are not getting enough nicotine. plain and simple, once you get the nicotine level in your system with vaping to the same level you have with analogs you will no longer crave the analogs. Additionally, the vapor will taste better.

The real caution is too much nicotine. Although that is no big deal, the first stages of nicotine OD are very sharp headaches and nausea. If that happens, stop vaping immediately. The feeling will quickly subside. At that point you need to get less nicotine concentration in your juice or simply vape less. It is not rocket science to control the level of nicotine you are ingesting.

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say the problem isn't nic level. People might not like this answer, but it's the truth. The problem is you aren't really trying. I failed my first attempt at vaping for the same reason. I kept just bumming a cigarette here and there. You need to understand there are as many as 4,000 chemicals in analogs and you are not just addicted to the nicotine, but many other chemicals. Until you stop smoking for long enough for those chemicals to be purged from your body you will continue to crave them. You have to suck it up and deal with the withdrawals period.

I read this thread because I'm on day 5 of vaping and was beating myself up too for buying a pack day one and then again last night. I was a PAD smoker and pretty proud the first pack lasted me 4 days which is unheard of for me. But last night I got pretty down because I went and bought another pack. I did get 24, 18 and 12 to try and I've mixed them together so I think I'm getting enough nic. Good advice on here. I like the idea to just relax and consider how many I'm not smoking. I would like to stop analogs for good so hopefully I can slowly smoke this pack when I feel the need too, stop stressing and deal with the 'wants' when they are gone.

I'm on day 4, and I have to say it's easier than ever.

I've tried tons of different methods, but this one worked for me. As soon as I bought it and tried it, instantly I fell in love.. I had 3 cigarettes left and it took me over half a day to smoke them... when normally, they'd be gone in a couple hours. I never looked back. I still don't have much of a desire to smoke a cigarette. Once in a while I get those "time for a... oh wait" type of moments, but they become less and less frequent.

In the past, I couldn't even make it past the morning of day 1. This time it was different. Try 12 or 18mg ejuice. (I use both. 18 in mornings and major cravings, 12 thruout the rest of the day)

i started with 36mg and worked down from there along with self will..

I only know me... I prepared with a decent system and a back up system. The back-up went to the car. I had extras of critical items like batteries and bcc coils. Basically, I did not want an excuse to stop for a pack. The juices I got were 36mg. That is a lot of mg, but I needed to know that I was getting what I needed. All I did was cover my urges, nothing more. I practically carried my APV around with me. I was getting my nic and really just had no reason.

I did not smoke a cigarette after that. Being prepared for all contingencies really helped.

Today, I am tinkering and in the evening I vape a low nic juice. It is relaxing. I still keep a system close by.

Hope helps

I would definitely try using higher mg juice. I was a heavy smoker and I started with 36mg, then went down to 24mg which is what I still use today. I also found that using a tobacco flavor e-liquid gave me a similar taste of a cigarette, which helped me a great deal.

Couldn't agree more with this. I tried to quit back in December but my heart really wasn't in it. Got a craving and said "just one won't hurt." Well, we all know how that goes. A month ago I made up my mind that this was it and I wouldn't cave no matter how tough it got. While vaping certainly makes it easier than cold turkey, patches, gum, etc., it isn't magic. It still takes willpower and the desire to quit. No matter what I've wanted over my lifetime I've only succeeded at it by desperately wanting it. I have a sign on my fridge and also my office wall that reads "If you have just one cigarette, you'll be back where you started. Where you started was desperately wishing you were where you are today." Bite the bullet and say NO!

Echoing what others have said, I went from 3/4 PAD to 18mg juice and it was a smooth transition. I had one cigarette each on day 1, 2, 4 and half a cig on day 7, with none since. Meanwhile I have coworkers who thought a gradual transition was the best route and none of them have kicked the stinkies.

At first I really wasn't getting enough nicotine to quell the urges with a Protank 3, but with a dripper and 0.8 ohm microcoils kicking out the vapor better, 18 is almost too strong.
