For cleaning coils (Halo Triton), all I've heard is to drop them in cheap vodka and let them soak. Would isopropyl alcohol have the same affect? Is it not aggressive enough? Just curious, don't want to ruin a perfectly good coil trying to clean.

With all due respect to the prior posters. Vodka, good 100 proof vodka, is only 50% alcohol. The rest is additives, flavors, stabilizers, etc.
I asked my son - a 37 year old degreed chemist, working in his field daily - about this and he says to use 91% isopropyl alcohol. There are only 9% additives, etc. here. He strongly suggests that cheap vodka is going to leave more residue. More residue, more residual flavors remain.
Don't forget the "burn-in" to remove the caked up carbon like crust covering the coil.

I agree, rowdy. iso sounds like a better solvent for soaking. I'll try it. I'm usually using distilled water that works well, but for the really gunked coils, like from Halo's VooDoo, I will give it a go.
I don't have cheap vodka, I have good vodka, and would rather not waste it.

I simple prefer the cheap Vodka(for cleaning). 50% is more than enough to do the job on reasonably maintained equipment. I also use Ultrasonic and Hot water depending on the need.
Assuming something is better because it is stronger is not always correct.

I have a bottle of Jamaican "overproof" rum I got as a gift. I can't remember the %, but it's at least 50% alcohol and crystal clear. I don't think I'll be drinking it, cause 
it is mad strong!!
But since it is a distilled spirit much like vodka, could this be used instead? I mean, one is from potato, the other from sugar/molasses.
(Or, does anyone have a drink recipe that would make this rum drinkable?)
(I guess I can risk a $2.50 coil and test it.)

I found rum and coke works very well... no not to clear clearomisers, to use over-proof rum. I had some 180 proof and when it was mixed you could taste the raisins. When it wasn't it tasted like floor cleaner.

I think most vodkas are made from diluting almost pure (like 95%+) ethanol with water. I doubt there are any vodkas with stabilizers and other 'contaminates' I'd feel perfectly safe using it to clean my clearo heads.
But saying that, I clean my heads by dry burning, I've not really found that soaking in vodka does anything other than waste vodka.

If you're trying to remove a stubborn smelling juice, I have found that diluted white vinegar 50 /50 with water works a treat. Hot water rinse and a dry burn - good to go. YMMV
I have been using 91% ISO to clean my heads. I will let them soak for a few hours, rinse them off with hot water and then soak them in distilled water overnight.
Would this method apply to aspire heads as well? I love how these things pull but they're enclosed as opposed to, say, kanger heads. It seems like it'd take the aspire heads a good bit longer to dry out and from videos I've seen, its tough to open them up to dry burn.
I have been using denture tablets overnight for cleaning heads. Rinse thoroughly after, and dry. Your dry burn will be not much more than a test as to whether it will fire. I do the same with the enclosed bottom-coil heads. I can see the glow just as good as with top coils.
I only use vodka to clean my syringe when doing diy. I haven't drank the end product with many different flavors, but some other Omg people might.
