I'm 70 years old. And I have COPD & a heart condition ( I have had 4 heart attacks). I was diagnosed with COPD 10 years ago. I resisted quitting smoking all this time. Sure I tried a few times to quit..using the patches & gum. But neither worked for me. Then 2 months ago tomorrow ..Nov 14th. My daughter got her EgO-T and convinced me to try it. Well needless to say..That was the day I quit. I haven't had a single analog since. I can now breath normal..I don't even get winded like I used to. My smell & taste are returning. I now enjoy the smells & tastes (well except when my dog has an oopsy on the floor). I haven't had a single cold or bronchitis. I usually have bronchitis about every 3 months. Its been 5 months now since I had it. I contribute this to my e-cigarette. I vape Atomic Fireball flavor exclusively. I found I like it better than any other. Its contains a lot of cinnamon flavor and I like that and feel it helps keep my lungs clear.
I haven't been to see my doctor yet . But I am sure when I do he will be amazed at how well I can breath now. He has been after me for awhile now to quit smoking. He will be very pleased with me and the progress the vaping has made in my condition.
Congrats to ALL you who have been able to quit using e-cigarettes. I think this is the very best thing my daughter ever did for me. Oh and we even got my other smoking daughter to quit and vape with us. We are now working on my son and he is "Thinking":glare: about it .:)

Well it's sad to hear about all of the medical issues you've had and believe me when I tell you that I know how hard it is to try and quit smoking. I smoked 36+ years at 2 packs a day before I tried my first e-cig. I was one who actually enjoyed smoking cigarettes too. There was no medical issue or pressure for me to quit, but I figured that I would probably die with a cigarette in my mouth someday. I'm so thankful that a buddy in NC told me about e-cigs and told me I had to try it. That is ancient history now as well as smoking cigs.

I'm happy for you! I have an older sister who just turned 64 today and she smoked all her life and still does. She was diagnosed with COPD years ago and has been taken to the emergency room a couple of times in the past year. I am so happy that the e-cig has saved my life, or at least prolonged it I hope. And I was also fortunate enough to be a member of ECF and to have learned so much over the past 2+ years. After a year and a half off cigs I had a checkup and asked the dr. how my lungs sounded and he replied "good" followed with "why?". I told him that I quit and continued with an explanation and demonstration of my e-cig which he took great interest in. It's amazing how much my health has improved.

So a big Congratulations to you for quitting and having success with the e-cig and I wish you many more years of improved health!

You are 70 years old, have COPD, have had 4 heart attacks, and now you are vaping Atomic Fireball? You sir are my hero! Congrats on your new journey and thanks for sharing your story as it lets others know that it's never too late to make a significant change in habits for the better. Good luck and keep us posted on your doctor's observations if you will.

Can you imagine watching your father die of lung cancer from smoking and still smoking yourself? That was me. It was a horrible way to go, and he was 56. As I turned 50 it was always on my mind. And I tried it all, gum, lozenges, patches, chantix.. never lasted more than 3 months and I would be right back on the analogs. Then I discovered e-cigs... I took the plunge and I've been smoke free for over a month. I'm so happy for you to have quit,,, quitting at any age is better than not quitting at all. And I'm sure your kids are ecstatic!!!

My 78 year old mother in law is now vaping more than she smokes after trying mine she got her own!
You are so inspiring!
I quit after my first vape after 25+ years 2 pack a day more than 4 months ago.
After serious trial and error I have settle on provape-1 with cartomizers and halos tribeca juice 24mg.
I have saved alot of money and have the new provari coming soon
Cheers!

Yes lovinit..I watched several people die like that..Its didn't stop me..I kept saying "I need to quit" But you know how it goes..maybe tomorrow :)
It took my daughter helping me with the e-cigarette and her doing it along with me and all the encouragement I get from friends & family :)
