i enjoyed smoking as well, never wanted to quit or had a real reason to quit, i really didn't care, but vaping has been the best thing that's ever happened to me and quitting just happened, after 5 years of smoking i figured it was time to move on anyway (i actually had that date planned for a while but wouldn't have been able to do it without ecigs)

Not the first time I've posted this but it was because my doctor said they'd be cutting off my legs within five years because my arteries were so clogged. That was on November 13, 2011. Which, coincidentally, was the day I smoked my last cig (IMAGINE THAT!).

Subsequent tests have shown continuous and dramatic improvement. Thanks to vapor, mainly.

Do to new smoking legislation, i couldent smoke at work anymore, not even outside the cadastral. So i decided to try out a joye 501, and even though it sucked pretty bad, it keept me from going insane when i was at work. After a few months with the 501, i bought a ego c twist, and after 2days i went from 1½ packs to about 3analogs a day. After a few weeks, analogs was outta my life for good, and havent smoked a analog since :D

I have asthma.
That probably says enough... however, it also happens that even though I smoked 2+ packs of cigs a day I hated the taste of kissing a smoker.. I hated it so much that I would nearly vomit. Throw in the restrictions on where you can and cannot smoke, the effect it has on electronics (my home looks much like electronics express or best buy), and the cost (so far vaping is somewhat cheaper than smoking for me).

Now I have a bit more money, I don't feel like a hypocrite about not dating smokers, my electronics last longer, and.... I don't have to freeze in the cold or sweat my ears off when I visit family.

I had smoked for 8 years and then quit for 3. I just started working at a night club 3 months ago and drink while I'm there and found myself smoking again. I have two young children and do not want them to see me smoking. My brother lives with me and has been sharing his e-cig with me and I love it :) Just ordered my own start up set and I haven't smoked a real cig since New Years Eve!

COPD wasn't enough to make me quit (33 years 2PAD). I thought I hid it pretty well (never smoked in the house or cars or around my kids) till last Christmas when I was watching TV with my 12 year old and a SaferCig commercial came on. He looked over at me and said, "Dad you should try those. We learned about them in Health class and they'd be better for you than smoking." Ordered a V2 kit and a week later (13-Jan-2012) started vaping and haven't had a real smoke since.

On the BIG + side of things, had my normal quarterly appointment with my respiratory therapist about 8 weeks ago and my large & small airways were up into the lower range for my age. I'm completely off Advair (don't even have a prescription any more) and haven't needed a rescue inhaler since I started vaping. I also no longer have regularly scheduled quarterly visits (she told me no need to come back unless there's a problem in the future)

That's great to read! Really good! Was very skeptical of vaping when I first started wondering if I replaced one bad habit with another. But my body says it is working for the positive, and this post puts my mind more at ease!

LOL, there was a line from the Jack Nicholson movie "As Good as it gets" where he said the only way to get rid of a bad habit is to replace it with a better one... Jan 13th will be 1 year for me and I am healthier and stronger than I've been in 20 years (even exercising 3 times a week). YMMV but for me vaping has made an enormously positive difference in my quality of life - although when my wife is mad at me she says "great, now I have to put up with you for another 20 years".

I had no intention or desire to stop smoking, I had went on & off for 11 years more off than on. I switched to vaping for my wife as she did not like me smoking nor the side effects (smell, health issues down the road) I figure I'd thank myself in 20 years. Vaping is the best of both worlds I can still "smoke" and the little lady is happy.

for me it was the not being able to lay flat on my back in bed w/o coughing, the "wake up" cough..........then started vaping.........resolved all that and the cost was just crazy !! cough is gone unless i use too high vg (i think thats whats causing it occasionally)
i notice a BIG difference in smells as far as house, car people , so im keeping my fingers crossed .......not going back....last but NOT least after losing a mother & grandfather to lung cancer.........didnt want to end up that way :) good luck to all of us :)
