Why do all the "BIG" heavy toppers have little 510 threads?

I would be really happy if there were a larger threaded connection that became the standard. It would allow more room for better insulator and pin designs.

Currently there isn't much room inside the connection threads for all the necessary parts. If it was a bigger diameter to start with the connection/insulation parts could be improved imo.

and
Why do a lot of the "LITTLE" light toppers have big EGO threads?

It really makes no sense. The heavy ones could benefit from the extra support of the bigger EGO threading. I know not all mod's have EGO threading, but more and more do, just wondering why they haven't started upgrading some of the bigger toppers with EGO threading? Even if you wanted to use an EGO threaded topper on a 510 only mod, they make a 510 to EGO adapter that would solve that problem.

I know no-one can really answer this, because we don't make the toppers, but it is something I just don't get, and was wondering what others thought the reason for it is. Thoughts.....

When they start seeing people buying those 510(atomizer) to eGo(battery) adapters, plus a high number of eGo tanks being sold, THEN they will clue in that there is a need for it.

The 510 interface works with cartos; and for that reason it is a sort of universal interface.

I'm not sure but maybe some of those things sold as 'beauty rings' does the job?

A wide tank with an ego thread would not sit flush against an atty because it sits on the outside. The 510 goes in the hole and lets it sit flush. Think its not important? Ask all the OCDs that cannot use a 23mm mod with a 22mm tank

I deleted what I was going to say, was a little snarky, don't want to go there.

It is possible, and would be an improvement, IMHO, Just have to find one. As for it sitting flush, a picture is worth 1000 words.

This is using adapters, but you get the idea of how it would work. Without the adapter, and the ego threads right on the tank, it would allow the tank to set flush with the mod.

Perhaps an adapter like this might help....EGO to EGO 510 Atomizer Adapter : L Js E-Smokes, Electronic Cigarettes

what i wish they would do is less of a screaw on and off type of connection but a plug and play one. i understand why they have not done it thou. every one remember the rca diy connector mod.

I remember those.... Always thought something like a BNC type connector would make sense, the positive pin would not depend on a flat to flat connection, but a pin and socket. Half the posts in New Members "It won't fire" would disappear.

I still have a box mod or 2 laying around with RCA connectors. Can't find the atty adapters for them. :(

That's what I was using in the pictures above. :) I have 2 of them.

That is so true, and not a bad idea.

Here's my take on it, since you sort of addressed it with your pic... The "beauty ring". Not only can it be used to create tension, but it also creates a tapered look. Imagine a larger topper being put on a twist, without a tapered beauty ring. They want to make the tanks as marketable to as wide of a range of people as possible. Well, that and even for the mech mods, I've seen my share that just had 510 and not had an ego.

Why do you sometimes see a super hot girl with a guy who rates a solid 5 on a good hair day? It's a mystery for the ages.
