Why do B&M's do this????

Had to go to the dentist today, which is about 20 miles from me. On my way back, I thought I'd try a new B&M in an area I usually don't go to. It was 11:20 AM and they weren't even open!! And the worst part is, they didn't even have their hours posted on the door/window!!! This is the 2nd time it's happened to me in town. How annoying is that??
Shame on you, since I had a c-note up my wallet!!!

Most of the shops by me don't open until 12:00 pm. I think that's pretty common. They stay open longer into the night then typical retail locations. There's one head shop in my area whose hours are literally "Whenever - Whenever" on Sunday.

My favorite sign once seen on a vapor shop door was "Back in 1 hour."

Um, an hour from WHEN?

There's plenty of other vape shops around here for me to spend my money at.

I've taken to calling B&M's before I go because nobody has the sense to standardize their retail hours. It's really just sloppy business.

As someone who works 'non-standard' hours, I appreciate shops that are open either very early or late. (No, I don't expect both.)

But their hours should definitely be posted.

I'm looking forward to the day when vaping becomes more mainstream and shops act more like traditional retail opposed to head shops.

The one closest to me is 9am to 8pm and 6pm on sunday + a bit if custom drives.

Why do they do this?

I would guess that they do it because most of the B&M's that are popping up are being opened and run by people who have never run a retail business, or possibly never run any type of business at all and are simply expecting to make a huge profit, regardless of how they treat their customers.

That has been my experience with every B&M I have been to within a 50 mile radius of me, so I just quit going to them.

shops in my area either open at 9 or 11, so if i wanna go to more than one shop, i have to plan it accordingly

The shops in my area have hours clearly posted on their door, Facebook and Instagram. Seems you have some rather unprofessional B&Ms in your area. I even have the cell phone numbers of a couple of the shop owners for that "just in case" emergency vape issue.

It is true that there are some people opening shops to jump at the cash but there are plenty of other shops run by people that understand business and the need for regular communication with customers. Unfortunately, it sounds like you have the former in your area.

These people are forgetting that this is a tourist town and when the tourist wants something, they want it now. Especially if they've just won some big bucks. There are also tons of people in this town that work odd hours/shifts as well.
I agree that they are not as business minded as they should be and this coming and going when they please won't sit too well with prospective buyers. They better get on the ball or they will be the losers in the end.
I've been to most of the stores in town (and know the good ones) but it's always nice to see what I may be missing. I won't be missing this one!
