It seems like every time I get a brand new tank, it runs awesome the first couple tanks. But then after a few months, the flavors come through muted. Ever time. My current tank is a falcon and it ran great at first. I could put anything through it. Now, the only thing that runs in it is beard vape #32 because its 60/40 instread of 70/30. Anything with higher VG is mute.

It is so incredibly frustrating. This has been my dillemma for quite some time now. Do you think its because the tanks get a dropped a little? Or are they dirty? Do tanks only have a short life on them anyway? I have been vaping for 7 years and I am stumped. People at the vape shop think that I am crazy. But I can't stand when I spend a bunch of money on juice and coils and get a muted flavor.

I am about to just switch to salt nic. Then maybe try to quit. Sick of this.

Are you cleaning them thoroughly? If you don't have an ultrasonic cleaner, leave it overnight with some vinegar and water. Just a touch of vinegar in a hot pot of water. Residue, specially in the chamber builds up. You can also leave them overnight in everclear. Do it at least once a month to ensure they're squeaky clean.

Wow, thank you for the fast reply! Okay, I may try that. How long do I need to leave it in the hot water?

So you don’t think that the drops had anything to do with it? It must be the residue. You’re right because I rarely clean the vape. Sometimes I let it run under hot water for a few seconds but that’s it. I did that the other day and it helped a little so I bet your idea would help a lot more.

Unless you want to scrub, I leave them overnight.

I second this. Cleaning them can make noticeable difference. I use an ultra sonic cleaner, but a little vinegar in water, alcohol (everclear, vodka, or even 90% rubbing alcohol), water with some dish soap, or a pan of boiling water on a stove are all effective ways to clean it up. Just make sure to remove the coil, and if rubbing alcohol or dish soap is used make sure to rinse it thoroughly and dry it out before use so you remove any residue that may be left behind.

I put coils included into either alcohol or the ultrasonic cleaner.

Coils are disposable . They frequently last as little as 4 or 5 days before you need new ones. Some coils CAN be cleaned but results are limited and mixed. Try a fresh coil.

I'm really confused. Are you replacing the coil with a fresh coil and finding it's not performing as well? Are you even replacing the coil when it loses performance? Because taste and performance come from the coil. The tank would have to he a real mess for a fresh coil to taste bad (assuming you like how that brand of coil performs).

Don't forget the wick! I've found that the cotton always degrades sooner than the coil does.

A dirty build up in the chimney can definitely affect flavor overall even with a new coil.
I agree. I often will use a Q TIp inside of the drip tip and into the chamber to clean the accumulated gunk out. Looks terrible, probably tastes worse.

Depends on what you’re vaping and how hot you vape it to a degree. With my therion bf where I always use replay the coil will often get crusty before the wick actually burns through. This of course means I change both. You can’t clean a coil without replacing a wick. I generally replace both anyway because I tend to leave it too long and the coil can’t be cleaned without dry burning which I am leery of doing with a tc setup. I could clean the wick I suppose but wire is cheap and it’s just easier to wrap a new one if it’s really gunky.

"Probably tastes worse" you mean you don't taste the Q Tip? Man, I'm doing this all wrong
