I can see picking up something cheap to see if ecigs will work for you, but once you know they will...

Why keep buying cheap ... junk???

You could afford to smoke, but you can't afford a quality mod?

I smoked 3 packs of cigarettes a day, so my ProVari paid for itself in 10 days.

COME ON PEOPLE!!!

Take a crowbar and pry a little bit of money out of your wallet and get yourself a decent mod.

And another thing...

Quit complaining about the cheap ... thing you just bought that leaks, or breaks, or gives you dry hits.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!

Just ranting... I feel better now...:)

Not to make this a Provari thread, because everyone buys what works for them, but that's why we bought ours. I wanted to step up and my boyfriend, that wise man, said "buy the Provari, you're going to get there anyway." He was absolutely right. He probably saved us quite a bit of money by encouraging me to leapfrog all of the other things I would have bought and discarded along the way. (And since then we bought one for him, and a used one as a backup.)

BUT... for some people it's easier to lay out less cash at a time and replace them as they go than to jump forward that far at once.

Cigarette prices vary. Smokes are about eight bucks a pack here. I started with cheap things, because I couldn't afford cigarettes. Plus there is always the doubts that vaping will even work. Especially true for people who've tried to quit multiple times. You become quite skeptical. Yeah you do get what you pay for. If I could go back I would've started out with a provape-1 It's small and has a lifetime warranty. Love my Provari, but that would've been too much to start out with. It's huge and does lots of stuff that seemed like too much work. There are other good mods out there btw ;)

To which cheap junk are you referring? People spend what they can afford to. Since it is THEIR money then they get to choose what the think will work. I have nothing against a Provari, but I would never buy one. I have 2 Mechs, 4 vision spinners, 1 Twist, one ego-t, and an itaste vv 3.0. I still didn't spend as much as you have spent on that provari and I never have to worry about not having a PV available.

Since I am a expert at both breaking and misplacing everything that I own it seems to me that cheap items is the way to go. When I lose a $30 mech or vamo it is a lot easier to deal with than loosing a $200 mod. Its the same reason I have a old flip cell phone instead of a new android phone. My Galaxy S4 lasted all of 2 weeks before I managed to break it.

so they can buy more cheap junk

I learned a valuable lesson from my father. He was a self-employed carpenter by trade. He always purchased the best (and usually more expensive) tools for his line of work. He used them nearly every day and they had to be reliable and durable. He couldn't afford to use cheaper tools which might break after a couple of months of use and need to be replaced repeatedly.

Maybe this concept is just a carry over from old school values. Today's society is a disposable one.

I look at a Provari and see a quality vaping tool. I don't want to have to continue to buy unreliable and non-durable mods which should they break, can't be repaired. Provari's are made to be dependable and reliable, and are repairable if they do break - for as long as you own one. You get what you pay for.

The fact that they also provide the best vaping experience I've found is just icing on the cake.

WHY PROVARI?

A lot of times, the purchase is exploratory.

I don't know if I'll be able to make a rebuildable work. Will it be a hassle to wrap a coil? Will it be better enough flavor to justify the time fiddling? I'm not sure, but I kind of want to try it.
There's a $32 chinese thingamajig that lots of people seem to like, or there's the newest shiniest better machined original for $175.

I might buy cheap junk.
Just an example.

The opening post made me laugh - mostly, I guess, 'cause it's absolutely true.

I wasted a lot of money on cheap junk in my first few months of vaping, simply because I didn't know any better. That's what the sites catering to beginners carry, and I can totally see why. Smokers are used to buying packs of cigarettes, which are mass produced, disposable and ubiquitous, so we automatically expect vape gear to be exactly the same way.

I agree that it's wasteful - just as repeatedly buying the same cheap, breakable piece of Walmart crap is wasteful - but I certainly see why people do it.

Perfectly said, Bad.
I would so love to see a Snap-on or Mac mod. Lol

You get exactly what you pay for with a cheap mod. In the case of a provori, I'd one day be looking at it ( small piece of threaded pipe, tiny outdated chip, 510 only connection) and think " Where'd my $200 go??

People get an MVP for $40 and think " Wow- that's alot of functioning performance for that price". Many don't get that feeling of value with a provori.

A good friend of mine had an MVP last a whopping 3 months before it just stopped working.
I "get that feeling of value" every day after over a year and a half of use. I have not had a cheap mod last me over 8 months to this point....

I bought a ProVari right after my ego and still use it some but I'm currently using a Stingray mech with a KFL on top and a Nemesis with a R91. I guess I got Burt out on messing around with the voltage all the time, just because I could. I still use the ProVari if I want to change the flavor of a juice with voltage but using a 1.3- 1.4 coil with cotton works for me on a mech for the most part.

More juice - the good stuff
Ego 900 bat, ismoka mini, pt 2. juice - need a walking around unit
Different local vape shop more juice - will not return to
