Funny. I used to be an IBM keyboard "snob". lol. Wanted that "proper click".

I guess I'm just part of the unwashed masses that have no idea what a Provari button is like. Oh well.

I build my box mods deliberately WITHOUT a clicky button. Threw the one that came with the kit out. I get the smooth ones with a lot of spring tension. I can even set the mod down on the button with a metal tank full of juice and it won't fire.

Nice thread OP.

It seems that a nice clicky button on a PV gives feedback that is enjoyable. Many of us like our big clicky buttons and I wonder why?

If a Provari for example, updated their device, would a bigger clicky bottom be appreciated? Love to hear your thoughts! :)

Strange that I just saw this, I just wrote to ProVari asking them about future products having a click button. I sold my V2 because I couldn't deal with the silent button, other than that it was a flawless device!

I think the problem is that a clicky switch is generally only rated for about 100,000 throws, while the microswitches like what are used in the Provari are usually rated for about 5,000,000 throws. That kind of a rating is important for a button that will be clicked several times a day every day.

Operant conditioning. We get positive reinforcement from the push of the button, we feel and hear the click which is conditioned stimulus for our sweet, sweet vapor in a classical conditioning process.

If how ever, you say have a fiance who elbows you in the ribs, you have added positive punishment into the situation.
