Why do you vape? Any dieters doing only mouth inhalations?

Hi Everyone!
New here and new to vaping, only been doing it for a couple weeks. I'm actually on a weight loss journey (some 25kgs to lose, Currently at 20). My friend vapes & told me about the flavours etc. Given my weight loss journey, I'm a chronic night snacker with a big sweet tooth and I love my 2 glasses of wine per night. Obviously neither are great for weight loss, and per chance I saw a vape store while shopping & had a chat to the store person and walked away with a disposable "OneVape" grape flavored pen (0 nicotine as I don't want to swap one habit for another) now whenever evening comes I have a few puffs of the flavoured vape (10-20 puffs) not doing a lung inhalation, just into the mouth & out the nose (sometimes!) more common just into the mouth & then out with some pressure to blow the vapor away (to hopefully stop 2nd half vapor)

That's been just enough to get me the flavours I crave without the calories of food and wine, I'm sure this is probably healither then junk food and alcohol I've since lost 5kgs in a lil over 4 weeks.

I get a lot of people vape for the nicotine aspect, but is there anyone doing it like me for a similar reason?
And do you think inhalation in the mouth, then right out, carries as much of a risk as lung vaping?

Thanks :)

to ECF LilPuff. So glad you are here. Good name for you. I was a long-time smoker so I definitely vape for the nic but I can see where the flavors could possibly help with cravings. Maybe I should think about a chocolate vape. unnamed.gif Congrats to you on the weight loss. That is awesome. No matter what your reason for joining, I hope you enjoy vaping and this forum. Lots of wonderful people here so enjoy and make yourself at home.

I started vaping to quit smoking have been on and off both for years and finally have gone just over a year strictly vaping. I have lost 90 lbs in the past 9 months or so and while I contribute most of it to lifestyle changes I think vaping has played a part. I would agree that my craving for sweets has been impacted by vaping in a positive way.

Hi LilPuff. Welcome to ECF.

I started vaping in 2012 with the hope I could stop smoking. It worked. Not one cigarette since November 2012, and I'm still vaping. My flavor is clove. A thing that surprised me back then was that I didn't gain weight the way many people do when they give up cigarettes.

If zero nic flavors are helping you stay with your diet, especially keeping the night time snacking demons away, then there's your benefit. Yes, taking the vapor into your mouth and releasing through mouth and nose is actually the way I vape nicotine. In your case, it's the mouth that wants that flavor and sweetness.

I wish you success and happiness.
