What possible justification can there be to edit out the name of a vendor when someone sends me a PM telling me about a juice they like that I might like to try? It pretty bad when we can't even talk privately about ECIGS. I thought that was what this forum was for?

Retired1 is correct. The forum filters work the same on private messages as it does in the open forum, it's automatic. If the supplier is censored, that's because it's banned from the forum.

ok I did the research and I'll buy that answer...............

oops! the url I copied gave no indication it would appear like that.....so I deleted it.

but then what is the reasoning behind editing out the names of other forums?
probably too many spammers came here from those forums and spammed links to themselves to try and gain SERPs by using a busy forum like this one...

Other forums may have been edited at one time, but, as far as I know, there are no forums that are edited any more.

Because, in the USA at least, anything you link to is the same as having what's at the linked-to site on your site. And, especially on a forum, what's the point of having rules (especially as regards zero tolerance for certain substance conversations) if you're going to allow links to forums that may not have the same ones? What mod has the time to travel to all the possible posted sites checking out all the content there?
