Why don't I like my mod? Any former Triton users that can help provide perspective?

I have posted about my dissatisfaction with my mod in another thread, but I just wanted to ask a newbie question here:
I moved from Blu ecigs to a simple pen vape. I wasn't really satisfied with the pen vape, it felt underpowered for me, so I jumped to a 75w tc Sigelei mod with a Herakles tank. I still wasn't satisfied, and also felt overwhelmed at trying to figure my new mod out, so I dialed it back and picked up a Halo Triton.
I was very surprised by how much I love the Triton. It's not a loose draw, nor is it too tight of a draw; just about right. I can taste the flavors of my juices so much more than I could with my underpowered simple vape pen I had gotten from a local vape shop. Even though the Triton is a pen as well, something about how it is constructed makes it far superior.
I eventually want to reduce my nicotine as much as possible, so recently I started eyeballing my mod again. I went back to my vape shop, asked as many questions as I could, and am using a .6 coil, with 25 watts and closing the airflow as much as possible. I also purchased a drip tip that has a slightly smaller hole. I got home with it, and it still feels too airy, and not satisfying. I am thinking that the juice from this vape shop (they mix their own) just isn't doing it for me. I am very satisfied with Halo and Suicide Bunny, so I am going to try that in a lower nic level to see if that could be the problem.
I have been looking at the Tracer mod by Halo. It seems to be a nice midway point between the Triton and my Sigelei, but then again, I am still very new to all this, so any feedback would be appreciated.
I am taking my Sigelei to a different vape shop today; hopefully I can get the answers I am looking for there. I am the only vaper in my circle of friends, so I don't have too much in terms of resources near me.
With all that being said, I feel like I am missing something here... Maybe vaping out of a mod is supposed to be light and airy? I apologize for the clumsy terms, but for anyone here that has used a Triton, and then used a mod, maybe you can see what I am trying to figure out here?
Thanks for all of your help, I really appreciate it.

The halo triton tank is a Kanger T3 with different threading. You csn use a t3 on your mod with an ego adapter and run at 7 watts maybe 8.
Thank you. Do you think that there is anything I can do with the Herakles tank? I love how much it holds. Is there a better tank that would fit my mod to get the results I want or should I just go for the Kanger T3?

The 75W Sig mod isn't your problem. Sure, there is a learning curve to figure out when it comes to settings, but the airy draw is strictly due to your tank. As Robert said, the Kanger might be a good alternative, but I would also suggest the Aspire Nautilus. It actually holds more liquid in the tank than the Herakles does. The Herakles is a 3ml tank... the Nautilus is a 5ml tank. You can dial down the airflow to your liking, and it's a pretty reliable tank. The newer coils are leaps and bounds better than the old ones as well... I think you would be very happy with a Nautilus.

There are many places that you can find them for sale, but here's the overview directly from Aspire:

Thank you. I have tried to dial down the airflow on my Herakles, but I would like to try another tank. I am looking forward to finding what works best because this seems to be a bit of alot of initial money layout so let's hope I don't completely empty my pockets over this! ☺

Yeah, getting started is the most expensive part... we all went through trying to find what works best for us. But I really think that the Nautilus will be a good mix of tighter draw and large volume tank that you're looking for. Other than that, most of my suggestions are rebuildable atomizers... much cheaper in the long run, once you find what you like.

Thank you. I am going to pop back into the vape shop I was just in and check it out.

Gosh... this is complicated.

It is possible the newer you are to vaping, the more you'll enjoy the 'old stuff' that is closer to smoking a cigarette. For many, it's a basic tank with a stiff draw.

What do I think of the Triton? Well, I used the same product for a year (almost) except NOT sold by Halo and consequently cheaper. Would I ever buy anything from any company that is readily available from someone else for less money and less marketing 'spin'.... NO.

I still use mini Protanks and even iClear 16s sometimes. The thought of paying a 'brand' $20 for a $8 tank doesn't appeal to me. I don't follow Halo these days, and if I buy the liquids, they certainly don't come direct from them.

Buying the Tracer Mod makes no sense to me, may as well buy an iStick and a nice tank.
OR, just use your Sigelei.

In the UK, people are still buying iStick kits for $75 when you can put them together for $45.

Sounds like your issue is that you need a tank that works well for mouth to lung vaping. All the current "popular" Subohm tanks are really designed for the direct to lung vapers so they have a very open air flow. A good mouth to lung tank is the Aspire Nautilus. For a top fill, the Aspire Triton would work as well if you are using the 1.5 ohm coils. The 1.5 ohm coils are designed for mouth to lung hits as the opening down the center of the coil is very tight. I've also heard Kayfuns are very popular as well, although those are RTA's so you would need to build your own coils.

For a tighter draw, mouth to lung style, with stock coils, I've found nothing better than my nautilus mini's. The regular nautilus should be just as good with larger capacity. I use the 1.6 ohm vertical cotton coils, bought some of the 1.5 ohm horizontal coils and the were terrible, harsh and metallic. For rebuilding coils I have a kayfun light v2 that gives great flavor, also has a tighter draw. I also have some GS Airs that give a fairly tight draw and are backups to my mini's. The kanger subtank mini has good flavor but doesn't work well for me with my 70pg/30vg 18 to 24 mg Nic thinner juice, leaks out the airholes with both the stock 1.2 ohm vertical cotton coils and with the V2 RBA rebuildable deck since both have huge wick holes more suited to high vg juice. I just got the V1 RBA deck with the smaller juice channels at the bottom and that's ok so far on the first tank full, a more airy draw though. Still prefer the nautilus mini but buying stock coils gets expensive. I vape about 3 ml a day and my choices are closer to what I enjoyed with cigs than subohm tanks. Finding a tank that suits you is what's important in vaping so good luck!

Actually the Triton is a Kanger T2. (not T3). Any T2 will fit on a Triton battery and the replacement coils are also the same. While the Kanger T2 will fit and work on a Triton battery (with a very slight gap), the Triton tank from Halo is meant for 808/ego threading and will not work on a 510/ego device.

My wife has been using the Kanger T2 (not the Halo) for 3 years. However, she uses that tank on a variety of mods...isticks, Evic, etc...with a 510 to ego adapter. Of course she has it set at about 7.5 watts.

Just keep in mind that there is a Nautilus and a Nautilus Mini. Good thing is that they both use the same coils, so don't worry about confusing them. The only real difference is size and juice capacity.
Thank you. I am going to take a look at them. I appreciate your help!

Thank you for your thoughts. I know what you mean about saving money... The Halo Triton is great, when I do figure out my mod, I will still be using it because it is more convenient when I am out or with friends. I will check out those brands, I do need to buy some new tanks and coils, this would be a nice way to save money!

Good to know about the Aspire Triton. Sounds like Aspire makes the tanks that will suit me best on my box mod. :)

you are still new and your tastebuds are changing;
just stick to the triton for a few months

after a while when you get used to it, you will probably find yourself wanting more airflow.

Yes I have noticed with all the posts I read that there are people at different stages of their vaping. I do love the Triton, and it is very satisfying. I am going to stick with that and the box mod I already have, as much as I get distracted by fancy mods and such I need to remind myself that Christmas is coming and I really need to save for that!

I am reading a lot of good things about the nautilus. This is super informative, I am learning a lot. I appreciate your input, its nice to hear everyone's opinions on this, I detest going into a vape shop and looking completely blank. At least this way I can better communicate what my vaping needs are so that they can help me better.
