hydrate hydrate hydrate, feeling wonky you have had enough nicotine. put the PV down for a while. also you are going through tobacco withdrawal. first couple of weeks i felt real crappy. big improvement after 1 month tobacco free. i also went through a whole bottle of headache pills the first month. keep at it, unless symptoms persist.

i myself started on tobacco /menthol flavors for months..i even made fun of my roommate for vaping banana nut bread. i couldnt understand why someone would want to vape a flavor or a fruit let a lone a baked good.. well to keep this short i ran out of juice and was forced to use some of his.. i couldnt believe it.. after smoking nothign but menthol for the last ten years i was now onto all sorts of different flavors and combinations. i started with pear menthol, pomegranate menthol and etc.. now i dont even touch menthol there is so much flavor out there.. most tobacco flavors are hard to get right RY4 seems to be a good one Desert Ship is nice too depending on the tobacco you are used to. I have heard a lot of bad things about tobacco extracts not being safe or just tasting horrible. I hope your vaping experience gets better & good luck to you in the future

there is sometimes a transition period of a short week for people trying to quit cigarettes.. sometimes it makes them cough a little or they vape too hard and get dizzy from nicotine. . i would definitely try different variations of pg/vg along with flavors. if you ask most vendors they will send u small samples with a regular order. if your vendors flavors are non customizeable maybe look elsewhere for the service

It is just so odd that I ran across this post and this thread. I was just about to post a help question myself about this.
After starting on Blu-Cigs, I went over to an ego kit and ordered a bunch of sample flavors.
As a former PAD smoker, I started with 12 mg on all my samples. The thing is, 12 mg is apparently knocking my socks off, with a head rush, slight dizziness, a buzz, and a HORRIBLE after-taste in my mouth after every sample, no matter what delivery system.

For the veterans out there, does it sound then like 12 mg is too much? I have been lightening up on my draw / inhale, and I am feeling better------not so light-headed.
Do you folks recommend going to 6 mg???

Also, flavors. I was initially drawn to the more savory, dessert-like flavors. I found several to be "sickeningly sweet", to the point that I couldn't tolerate even the smell of them very well. I put them away for a while and I found that I could eventually try them again with better results. Much like regular food, there are certain combinations that one can or can't tolerate very well.

I was the exact opposite. PAD of American Spirit lights and I needed 36mg to kick them. Down to 24 now.

When I first started, I had problems with severe dizziness and nausea. I have had episodes in the past with sudden, unexplained vomiting, etc. I also have a progressive moderate to moderately severe hearing loss. I went to my doctor, and he congratulated me on quitting smoking, but told me that I had to eliminate all nicotine as soon as possible. I ordered some cartos in no nic. I still vape-- especially since having found Mt. Baker. Yes, I still have some nic cartridges available for a few hits when in a very emotional situation, but that is getting rare now (three months).

Really, it is possible, so long as you have the hand to mouth syndrome satisfied.

Nicotine (among many other things) is a trigger for Meniere's disease. Don't want to scare you, but see your doctor.

Unfortunately, not all juices are equal. I have had some flavors and nic,vg,pg ratios that didnt agree with me. I spent alot on 5m sample bottles from different vendors at first to find a few I truly liked. Most tobacco flavors have a caramel flavor to mimic the subtle sweetness of tobacco. Also certain PG's have a sweet taste to them. Of course this is just my experience. Like I said try some different flavors/vendors, and whatever you do, don't go back to smoking! You've made the right switch, give it a chance. Vape on and Vape Happy:)

Check out vids on vaping on YouTube that walk you through the proper use of equipment, it will save you a lot of time, as far as tobacco flavors go, they are hit and miss, most do have a sweet flavor but some are close to a tobacco taste. Keep in mind that replicating burning tobacco is very difficult keep an open mind to flavors, good luck stick with it, the people on this forum know their stuff so ask and someone will answer

My wife and I are new to Vaping too. I transferred almost flawlessly, but my wife was having problems. Long story short she is allergic to of. Try a 100% vg liquid. I myself had some issues finding the right nicotine level. I thought with smoking 2 packs a day for years 24 mg would be good, not so. I was getting headaches shakes and racing heart. Try lowering your dose.

I had a very similar experience. For me it was the nic level. I started with 36mg because that's what my friend vaped. I immediately dismissed vaping as horrible and smoked for another 6months. Luckily, I found this forum and after much research found a set up and juice that works for me. If you keep experimenting, you too will find something that works. Good luck!

For nic levels it all depends on how much your vaping as compared to what your used to. An average cig has 1 to 1.5 mg of nicotine, and IMHO 24 mg of nic has the closest drag for drag nic levels an analog. But this is all based off how much your vaping

1 ml of 24 mg nic a day is about smoking a pack a day
1 ml of 12 mg nic is 1/2 a pack

But say your a PADer and vaping 2mls at 24 mg then your gonna have problems. Just know how much your vaping

As I was starting vaping I found out many things. First I have trouble w high pg solutions; anything higher than 50/50 makes my throat very sore and I feel icky (this can only be found through trial and error. Try getting the same flavor three ways 100%vg 50/50 and 80/20 and see the difference for yourself, everyone's different).

Second (as already mentioned) tobacco flavor is very hard to do. Well I should say smoke flavor is hard to do, I've had many liquids that taste like raw tobacco (like chewing on red man) which is nowhere close to smoking an actual cig. Best advise is to forget about tobacco flavor and try something else. It was caramel coffee liquid that finally got me to put down the cigs and start vaping like a champ

Third keep the goal in mind! You've come far in the hope of quitting analogs (you already found ECF!) and once you've made the switch for a couple of months you will find that cigs taste disgusting and everyone who smokes em stinks!

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Hi there,

I just started vaping last week after smoking analogs for close to 25 years (Marlboro lights). After falling victim to a serious e-cig scam (don't ask, should have done my research), I decided to order starter kits from Vapor 4 Life and Eversmoke.

Only V4L arrived so far, and while I opted for what I hoped would be tabacco taste, I feel like I'm getting this subtle, yet terrible sweet side taste, that after having vaped for a few days, now actually makes me nauseous just smelling the atomizer sitting next to me :-(

I love the throat hit of what I ordered and wanted to achieve a somewhat traditional tabacco flavor, as I don't think I'll ever be a fan of fruity flavors. I really don't know what to do, I was so excited to finally kick the analog habbit, but this is not going well so far. Hopefully Eversmoke will be better....

At least both have a 30 money back guarantee, and from the looks right now I may have to send at least V4L back.

Any tips for a newbie would be greatly appreciated.

Best,
Pete

i went threw some nasty detox, maybe thats part of the problem

Also nic levels can to some extent be dependent on WHICH stinkie you smoked. I smoked an ultra light at PAD. 12 nic is too much for me and 6 is a hair light but it is doable so that is what I am going with.

A very wise person who has helped many people through the switch to ecigs told me there are 3 serious danger points in making the switch.

3 days
3 weeks
3 months

They roughly correspond when the nastiest stuff from analogs start going out of your system. Just be aware of them and vape through it. You can do it. We are pulling for ya!

I would suggest you find a local store and try some flavors. You might like more than you think. What part of OH are you in? If your in or near Columbus there are 2 stores. AltSmoke and Buckeye Vapors. Buckeye Vapors does they're own juice. Basic mix is 50/50 but they can adjust it for you. Didn't think I'd like fruit flavors either. But here I sit vaping Wild cherry. Also have a bottle of Lemon Head and it taste like the candy. Hang in there.

can i ask some help with the whole pg/vg equation? i have tried a few different varieties and find it hard to get the heavy thick smoke that i enjoy...the ry4 by glory vapes with a 70/30 blend gives me what i want but i wish to try some fun flavors...when i mix that with some of the other flavors i have i lose that great hit...any suggestions on how to cater that beautiful throat hit with a pure flavor? maybe some brands or some pg/vg configs?

Such great advice, such a great community, I love it here. Welcome and congratulations on switching.

Ditto what everyone else said, plus water, lots and lots and lots of water. Vaping dehydrated the hell out of me and I felt sick. The water helped a lot. I also drank coconut water (electrolytes). As my system detoxed, I felt ill. My throat hurt, my taste buds were whacky and I had an upset stomach and all that goes with it
Within a few weeks I was good as gold.
Don't give up on yourself.
Oh and my husband hates the sweet stuff. He found a juice called Havana Select by BLOOG he likes a lot. Here's a link https://www.bloog.com/liquid-fusion...iquid-fusion-flavored-juices-30ml-page-2.html
Best of luck to you.
