It's got to do with quantum physics. I am fairly certain I saw a show on this a few nights ago on Discovery. You see, time moves much slower when you're waiting on something... like a pot to boil, or paint drying. If you're not waiting on something, e.g. death, time seems to absolutely fly by. Something about nano-particles, black holes and anti-matter or something like that. :)
