so i've been using smoktech dcc tanks because they were cheap, and at first i just wanted to try a tank. it turns out i really like them, but eventually i would like something i don't have to replace as an entire unit.
i use a precise + 18500, and using these tanks require a 510-510 adaptor. i occasionally experience cartos "shorting out" randomly with this set-up, although i'm always minding the position of the o-ring in the adaptor. the adaptor is not exactly streamlined, and i never experienced this "shorting out" when i had to use just regular cartomizers. basically i'm considering the vpx for a streamlined look, and to avoid that problem.
the tube itself is made of polycarbonate, which may be different than the current plastic tank i'm using? i suppose it's easily possible that smoktech uses a more economical plastic, but i don't know that. polycarbonate is resistant to heat, which makes sense for its use as a tank. i understand that the stainless caps on the vpx definitely helps the price rise, but is this the only "fancy" thing about this tank?
any enthusiasts, this is a request to educate/sell me on these things.

Stainless is better for you. Being alot of the cheap tanks are made of aluminum or chrome plated, the metals seep into the juice. The ones that use rubber grommets also leech unless they are made of delrin for example. Same reason that coca cola in a can tastes different than coca cola in a bottle. Stainless steel does not do that. I know I wouldnt vape anything marinating in metals that would leech in. As far as the plastic tube? Im moving to glass myself. There are a couple of vendors selling glass tubes or tanks.

I also am moving from polycarbonate tanks to glass tanks, because while the polycarbonate might be heat resistant, it also leaches into your juice. I would suggest going to glass tanks with either SS, delrin, or glass end caps. There are vendors that sell these, and here are some of them that I have saved in my favorites...

Clean Tanks - Avid Vaper

Handmade Pyrex Glass 6.5ml DCT with Pyrex Drip Tip

New! Pyrex Glass Tanks For Your Ecig

Naked CLear Phiniac Tank - Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks

Bare in mind that while these are glass tanks, they're made very well. They can break, but they can take some abuse also.
