Hi all, it's been about 2 months since my last login. I have noticed that my favorite cartomizer flavors don't taste the same. I asked my husband to try my premium flavor then my regular flavored cartomizers to see if it was just me, but he also agreed they no longer taste the same. He said that the 3 he loved has now been reduced to only one premium flavor.
I loved the Kant, but now it doesn't have that sweet under tone flavor that I liked in the premium. I ordered them again in the regular cartomizers, and it is still there. He is mostly unhappy with the French Pipe premium, but one other has changed for him as well. I am upset at the thought that the flavors that we loved will no longer exist with the new transition into premium cartomizers. Why is V4L changing the flavors?
I had 7 go to flavors, but now I only have 3. I wish V4L would stop altering the flavors that they had and make new ones with new names instead.
Is anyone else experiencing this, or is it just me and my hubby.

Based on a post Leaford made months ago after a regular flavor had changed (prior to the introduction of premiums), they anticipated having to recreate flavors once they'd cut out a middleman in the liquid procurement process. Or maybe they ended up switching manufacturers. Anyway, if the former, he mentioned that the recipes hadn't been on file for them directly. If the latter, there again, they would have needed to be recreated.

Thank you miss MiA for the reply. Well to be honest I thought that they had already finished with that process by now. I read about that around two months ago. Seriously, I hope that they are not finished with tweeking the flavors, because I am a believer that you don't fix something tha's not broken, but if it is you only fix it until it's back to normal...smile (added that last part).

Also, Jelli - it isn't just a case of the flavors being the same.

The premium cartomizers have a different resistance than the old ones which also affects taste.

I have some juices here that I like in the regular blank cartomizers that I do not care for as much in the premium blank cartos :(

Some flavors just work better than others . . .

The new cartomizers are meant to mimic a High Voltage vaping experience on a regular 3.7 vattery.

I've thought that some other things going on within the same time frame have probably slowed things down more too -- Chinese New Year; then battery tweaking; then premium cartos (plus deciding between two diff premium models); and maybe more I'm forgetting about atm. (Then recently even a bout of preparing for a battle in IL when it was considering banning ecig sales!)

Sorry to hear it's so stressful Steve -- not that I ever imagined it wasn't!

There are currently 4 flavors of Kant and I think I have covered that flavor as well as I can in this thread:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vapor4life/86120-last-word-kant.html

There are many other flavors that have changed as well....

Thanks Maxx for the reply, I did search the forum for premium flavor changes, and stuff like that but did not pull up yours, so no disrespect. Well, after reading your search I will add this about Kant. The Kant that I love was originally in a silver/gray labeled cartomizer, then they switched to the white label, and it pretty much tasted the same(but slightly different). Then I tried the premiums, white label too, but I don't like this one at all. I never bought the regular Kant Juice, but I did order some premium juice (about two weeks ago)I just tried it 2 days ago, and it tasted butter popcorny. So I was very disappointed.
However; it's not just Kant, French Pipe cartomizers, Cuban cartomizers, Nuport cartomizers, Pear cartomizers, and Green Apple Cartomizers have changed too. I usually get mine in 36mg strength so I', not sure if it's strength associated or not, but I even tried some of them in 24 strength and they are still not the same flavor. I hope this is just temporary and they will get them back to what they were when I first became a V4L customer in Dec 2009.

Thank You so much Steve for this reply. It is a validation of what I thought, and a reassurance that you guys are still trying to get the original V4L flavors back. I will always try to be patient, as long as I know it's being worked on I feel such relief. Thanks again, for making me feel oooh so much better...

Thanks yanks21 and miss MiA for the replies.
I usually use pre-filled cartomizers, unless I run out before my order comes in. I do like the vapor from the premiums, and some of the flavors, though not the same, are close enough. Plus, Steve mentioned, previously in this thread, there are some issues with the flavors. Thankfully, they are working on fixing them. However; if there are differences due to the cartomizers and filler material changes, Steve needs to know about those as well. So, yanks21, and others with similar situations, your information is vital for them to figuring out what all is effecting the flavors, outside of recipe variations.
I will try to be patient through this process, and hope that everyone else will be as well. Like I said before as long as I know it's being worked on, I feel relived.

You Kant always get what you want
You Kant always get what you want
You Kant always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you might find
You get what you need

I just want to say that most of us had our brand of cigarettes that we smoked before we started vaping. For example, if you were an analog smoker of say Salem Kings, how often did you buy them and they didn't taste like ummm...Salem Kings? Taste does matter even with analog smokers, it varies depending on personal taste, but it does matter. But not just with cigarettes, we all have our favorite foods, made by certain brands. If you buy the same item in the same flavor of a different brand of say potato chips. You may be able to eat them, but you are disappointed. Sometimes, they don't taste anything like your BBQ "Lays", (the BBQ flavor is so different you can't eat them). Now say you buy your fav, BBQ Lays, but they don't even taste anything like the used to, which is why you choose that brand and flavor over other potato chips that you have tried. At the very least you are disappointed. I could go on with real life examples that go beyond smoking but... enough said. Honestly, flavor consistency does matter regardless of what you may want to believe.

I agree with what everyone has said about the changes. They are bittersweet. I do miss some of the old flavors, but on the other hand some of the new ones are to die for. I guess the strive to get the best of both worlds is going to take a little longer than we hoped. I give them props for trying to get there at a faster pace than I originally thought they would (the skeptic I am).

The one thing that I would like to add to all of this is the one flavor that I am glad that they did work out is ice cream flavors.

Jelli, you're totally right about the importance of consistency, especially when quitting cigs is concerned. That said, I have to play Pollyanna for a sec. For me, the new prem carto design and upgraded batts have made vaping a much better experience. My old-style cartos are drying up somewhere in the back of a drawer. Having more flavs available has also been nice--even if hard on the wallet. So not to downplay your point at all, but the bit of adjustment pain's worth it for me. I'm just glad I never locked on to that old Kant that everyone's missing! :D

Sorry. I didn't mean to come across as trivializing people's disappointment with their favorite flavors no longer being available. I was just trying to make a funny, but a true one at that. You really can't ALWAYS get what you want. Since you use the example of cigs as the acme of consistency, I'll assume you quit smoking before Fire-Safe-Cigarettes were mandated where you live. Salem Kings no longer taste like Salem Kings, they taste like Salem Kings with a helping of burning carpet glue. To add insult to injury, they've got to pay more for their cigs then they used to. And smokers don't have nearly all the flavor choices and alternatives that we do. So anytime you miss your old flavors, just be glad you're no longer a smoker. (among all the other reasons)

My 2 cents,

I see a problem looming here with flavor conflicts. V4L is obviously trying to make improvements in everything, juice, cartos VG, premium etc. Steve and Mark have already mentioned that the "premium" will become the standard.

The dilemma is that 85% of the people may feel the change is better but that leaves 15% who may have liked the older style/flavor. The V4L gang has already stocked multiple variations of the same flavor, new, original, classic. At some point things may get really confusing. This is the way with Steve, he wants to really provide the best for everyone all the time. Some of us know you can't be everything to everyone and still be great at anything, but Steve is trying his .... off. imho h'e doing a bang up job of it.

Loss of an employee, like a chemist, the key to the ingredient mix, is a huge blow to the liquid manufacturer but obviously is causing serious headaches for Steve and Leaford.

What I'm saying here is that consistency will likely improve but may never be perfect -- if Steve continues to try to improve the product. There will ALWAYS be some who like the change and some who will be disapointed.

No Wonder!!. I used to love the regular Nuport carts.

Just received the premium Nuport carts and they suck. Horrible, taste nothing like the old Nuports carts.

I bought 3 bottles of the Mint Premium Liquid. They taste nothing like the old Mint Cartomizers. :-(

I thought I found a reliable liquid supplier..but my search will start again. I dont hate the mint premium. But is just not as good.

Personally, I have seen nothing but improvements with the cartomizers. I don't buy juice often so I can't comment on that, but I love the new watermelon, banana, pinapple, strawberry, smilin, the list goes on. I just taste my old flavor slightly tweaked. Guess I'm a lucky part of the 85%. Then again I don't order tobacco flavors, I can imagine those being hard to duplicate especially with a new chemist!
