Sometimes it depends on the neighborhood you live in. At UPS we were told NOT to leave packages in neighborhoods that looked sketchy.

Not saying thats the case with you but truth be told if I had the right (or wrong) delivery driver the same thing could happen where I live.

I live in a very nice part of town.

My UPS driver is very accommodating, but my USPS letter carrier is a "by the book" kind of guy.

I would love to have the option of UPS or FedEx shipping. It also cuts down delivery time by 2-3 days if I use those services instead of USPS.

The trick is living in Harlem. It doesn't matter if a package requires signature confirm, adult signature, sign in blood, or eye retinal scan, my mailman is leaving that box wherever the hell he wants.

Well said. I can confirm, my vvg and provari both required it yet it was in my mailbox or by my door when i wasnt home.

Out here in BFE USA the USPS delivers 1-2 days faster than any other carrier. Plus we have a post office on base, if I miss a Fedex or UPS package its a 40 mile drive into town to pick it up. USPS delivers around the same time every day so it's easy to predict. The other two, God only knows, they will only tell me "some time between 7 am and 7 pm".

I don't want anyone to get me wrong. I love the USPS. When I did a lot of online auctions, I did virtually all my shipping with them. I fully support the men and women that work there. They've got a tough job on their hands, especially in light of the major cuts and congressional action that attempts to destroy the post office and hand the business to UPS and FedEx.

I'm just stating the issues that have popped up because of cuts made to USPS. Contrary to popular belief, their shipping services are doing big business, probably due to pricing and their delivery to rural areas. If there was no USPS, rural America would get NO packages from ANY carrier.

well least it was safe at the PO. it could have left the sort facility and got sent to a city 50 miles away from your house and then got sent back to the sort facility only to be sent back to that same city (50 miles away from your house) where it got put on a truck and is listed as out for delivery in the wrong city  like my poor little purple mini
